more flavor in my weed?

whatever you do i don't reccomend "snake oils" these are marketed as flavor enhancers but in my opinion strain pick gives you the best true taste; those things that companies sell do add taste but is not worth it. proper drying (10-14 days) can really increase taste if you keep getting weed that smells like chlorophyll, and a month long cure following that also will increase flavor/strength. to achieve the 10-14 day dry your bud must not be stringy (optimal light+ root aeration) but dense, so that you can control how slow it drys without it molding. the way i dry is chop at the stem of the plant and hang for at least four days. I then chop up branches and move them closer together. the cardboard box i dry in has a passive intake (small holes on one end of the box) with a small 4in fan exhausting the air, making sure air gets around everything but at the same time trying to get everything closer together. by day 10 or so i usually do my trimming and can take 4 days. when i start trimming i put everything really close into a paper bag, and sometimes if its too dry take the paper bag and put it into a plastic bag and close it before a trim. Once the bud is clipped off the stem you can jar it for the final day or two, burping the excess moisture out. drying humidity should be 50-55% and you know you dried it right if the bud is somewhat spongy and the stem bends and then snaps . check again in a couple days to ensure its dryed thouroughly and then cure for a month in a jar (without opening it, in a dry dark place). Organic growing IMO is the tastiest most rewarding grow there is and outdoor bud has something special about it, a natural like high :) hope i helped!

yeah that does help, i havent gone to enhancers or anything like that. But i have prolonged my curing process and smell and taste definately come from that too. I wonder if there are some strains that just naturally have a really tasty taste you know? Idk i feel some dont really have a taste but then there are others where youre like wow thats the shit

Molasses is the single greatest thing you can add for smell. 2 tablespoons a gallon all flowering, make sure to flush and enjoy.

and also make sure that your watering with R/o water at 70degrees and you keep your root zone in the 70's range so that you arent killing off the microbes; and adding trace elements like cal-mag..all nutrients should be bio-friendly and be sure you know what your doing when adding molasses. your feeding the mychorzzae and other microbes which benifit the plant a lot but to be vague about it its organics. a way more effective way of adding carbohydrates to your plant are compost teas . theres so much to know and synthetically can be done with "liquid carbo loads"
edit: I wanted to mention also that it is important to have temperature fluctuations of 10-15degrees from day to night because any more or less your plant is using its stored carbs to regulate itself instead of producing bud/veg growth. it is important your plants get a dark cycle so it can store up carbs for its day cycle. you will notice a huge difference going from a 24/0 veg to a 18/6 or 20/4 veg, this allows the plant time to store carbs and survive any stress the next day, and is important to understand the concept that stored carbs are best used for growing and bud productions, not stress relief.

What exactly do you have to know what youre doing about with molasses?

I've used molasses and carbo boosters. Even though I didn't notice a difference in results, I still prefer the carbo boosters because my grow space didn't have that weird smell. For all I know molasses may be more effective.

What's made the real difference like people have said above, is just proper drying and curing.

i work at a dispensary and we have that agave stuff but ive never used it. i also have some humbolt honey but that too i have never used. anyone used them or know anything about them?

just pick a strain with a taste you like, if you like piney, lemony flavors, go with a nice og kush.. if you like fuely tastes, go with a sour d..

if you like strawberry, go with a strawberry strain.. etc etc..

ime, there is no short cuts to good tasting weed, just grow a strain that you enjoy the flavor of, grow it proper and give it a nice slow cure followed by a long cure and you'll have the best weed you can get imo.. :D

I like fruity tastes a lot. Ive grown strawberry blue and strawberry pez and they weren't as fruity as i thought they would be, they looked and smelled bomb as f*ck though. I had one strain it tasted like fruity pebbles and smelt like oranges and strawberries. it was sooo good.

you should check out some of subcool / tga's strains if you're looking for mostly flavor.. i'm not a fan as, well, i won't get into that here, but anyhoo's, if you want flavor, check out things from sub like his plushberry or pretty much anything from tga is pretty well known to be flavorful.. :D

I run a lot of DNA/Reserva Privada gear too....It is impossible to grow these 3 company's strains out and NOT get ridiculous flavor. I don't even think it is scientifically possible.

It's all about the genes.
