It's already like this. If you have a MMJ card you aren't supposed to be able to legally obtain a firearm.

Yes... We're all legally allowed to own as many muskets as we need while members of a well organized militia... This shit just doesnt apply anymore. Now all guns do is cause problems and kill people who (mostly) don't deserve it...
On another note, did you know that last year more of our soldiers committed suicide than died in combat?
Both of these things really piss me off...

I'm sure we will be talking about this more in the future. I believe it will get better. Good will prevail. With the legalization of cannabis in Wash. and Colo., the Fed has no choice but to re-examine the laws.
I'm already not looking foward to the things i'll have to do to my ar-15's when i move back to cali. Not that I'm really worried about only having 10 round magazines...not like i really need to be able to shoot 30 in a row. Plus I can change magazines pretty damn fast.

Who/what do you "need to be able to shoot", anyway??? Hell... I've never even "needed" to punch anyone in the face, let alone think about shooting them. What do I have to show for my non violent way of life? I've never been shot at OR punched in the face... Funny how that works...
I dont "need" to shoot anyone...i choose to shoot targets...as a sport. Just like some people like throwing a ball into a little metal hoop. My sport happens to also help me protect my home if anyone happens to kick my door in. And I've been robbed face to face and have had my home broken into...so i have every reason to protect myself and my fiance.

Funny how you have been lucky. I know people who are non gun owners, non-violent people who have been robbed, shot, beat up, etc. The reality is that there is no such thing as karma, there is no god, and the universe doesn't give a shit about you because it's not conscious. You have been lucky.
You know, and no offense intended at all, but you come off as an idealistic 15 year old who has just finished his high school government class led by a 60's hippy. I don't think you really have enough information to form a complete opinion on the subject.
The reality is this: Every human being needs to be able to defend themselves from violence perpetrated upon them by other human beings. Every human being needs access to the weapon of the day in order to equalize the situation and have a decent chance of defending their lives. For better or worse the weapon of our time is the firearm. To deny a human being access to the firearm is to deny that person access to self defense of their very life. That humans should act better or know that violence is wrong is irrelevant when you have a gun pointed at you, or someone has the upper hand and is about to exercise it. At that point, when all other lines of defense have failed, you damn well better have a weapon.
And I don't trust ANY human being who is trying to make me a weaker, more vulnerable human. There is only two reasons you want to disarm me... either you plan to do me harm and NEED me disarmed. Or you are afraid of me and wish I was disarmed for your own personal, and selfish comfort. Neither one are valid reasons for me to disarm. The onus is on you in both situations.
While a world of peace sounds great, the reality is that this is a violent world filled with mostly violent, selfish human beings. if you want to go through that world unarmed, go for it. But fuck off if you try to force me to live as you do.

sorry boss but you'll need a magazine key to change each of your 10 round mags if you want them legal here.
I already know about bullet buttons and what not. I've already looked into the laws. I'm probably going to leave one of my ar15's here on the east coast untouched...so it's grandfathered in when whatever bullshit federal ban comes into play...and use my stripped lower to build a cali legal rifle for over there.

A little idealistic maybe, but I passed 15 about 15 years ago... I cant proclaim to be a "gun expert", but I have enough information to keep myself out of sketchy situations.
I guess I just prefer not to live my life in fear of others. Fear is the instigator behind many bad decisions.
I'm gonna leave it at that. We obviously are very different people me and you... And that's just fine. I've got nothing against shooting targets, just make sure that gun stays in the right hands.

I don't mean to contradict you (what you said IS true), but that's just the thing... Background checks can't tell whether or not someone is going to be an irresponsible gun owner. How are we supposed to figure out who's going to be a responsible gun owner and keep the guns away from kids and crazies? I ask that as an honest question for discussion, not trying to instigate anything.

maybe she let him have access to guns so he could protect himself from intruders while she was at work...... he already had a disability so they could of had their way with him.. Did he ever get raped no.. check mate.
