Which T5 is best

How many lumens/ lamps are needed for a few plants. Wanting to put together a simple 400 watt grow

What is the sum of the lumens of you guys' t5 systems?

i would get a 4' 4bulb if the space allows, for veggin 4 rather large plants, for smaller ones in a 2x2 area, i would go with a 4 or 6 bulb 2ft t5.


PLL are awesome,but more complicated and more expensive than t5tubes.

going to be building a grow room, possibly to contain a 600watt hps. if its 50watt per square foot, how many foot long/wide THanks?

what is PLL? There is a huge difference in lumen output between these two t5s with similar dimensions. How come? I thought all t5's were the same?

Comparing the two systems I would stick with the standard T5, HTG Supply 2 Foot 4 Lamp High Output T5 that emits 8000 lumens.
Cheaper bulbs, and wider selection of specialized bulbs. 8000 lumens is plenty for vegging as long as the full canopy is covered, and the bulbs are kept close to the top of the canopy.
The money you save can be used for more lights.

Well if you have a 2X2 grow area the Tek 4 High output 20,000 lumen would be better in general. Just by looking at the Lumen output for size. Depends on how many plants as 2X2 is good for 2 medium sized moms...However 8,000 lumens on a 2X2 is ok to veg and the person above me made several valid points.

they are not the same by any means.

they are called PLL becuase they are more akin to CFL light bulbs. they are the bulbs that preform a u bend and has one or 2 tubes.(depending on whether it is 2pin or 4pin)
they are different in small ways. the most important way to me, is bulb price and limited color selection(better selection for aquariums)
