DJ SHORTS BLUEBERRY compared to others...

Pipe dream, great find on that write-up.

My preference for True Blueberry has to do with the high. It's not incapacitating, I still like to be able to function. But be careful it can lull you into thinking its not very powerful until you realize you just did three stupid things in a row! If my memory serves me correctly (which is getting more suspect each passing year) Earlier versions made me much more Bean bag bound. I guess the term now is "couch lock". (Do they still make bean bags?) Or it could be the copious amounts consumed, I can't remember .......

If someone is looking for a strain that has a great shelf life, I know of none better. Properly stored it will easily go two years for no worse the wear. Hell, I think it gets best after its aged 6 months. And brother, when you pop the mason jar lid of a quart of this stuff and breath it in, all's right in the world. Just don't let anyone else who's bigger than you smell it, you WILL have to wrestle it out of their hands!

After reading that "article" last night about DJ's gear, I was leaning towards the "true blueberry" . II liked the way it described it as a more even balance between the indica and sativa lineage. I believe it said it yielded better then the original blueberry as well. It seems that is your preferance also so I'm going to follow that recommendation then next time I order some seeds. I've wanted a blueberry for a couple years and have just never pulled the trigger.

Four to five years ago I had the most amazing batch of DJ Shorts Blueberry and tried my hand at pollinating a few sites on this killer female. Lo and behold it worked and I got a bunch of seeds. I put them away in a real safe place and forgot where I hid them. Man I hate that!! Anyways last fall I found them right where I hid them.

New Years on a whim I tried germinating a bunch and within 24 hours all but one had cracked! After 21 days they all look just like their mamma did! Short and fat. So if you get some great seeds, put them in a small plastic ziplock bag, place in small drawstring cloth bag in a drawer you open about once a month with no regards to heat or humidity. Wait 5 years then germinate! :)

They seem to be doing ok.....

Many you guys are making me really want a blueberry or cross so bad. No way I can order more beans for a few months though.

The dude gave me some of the best customer service ive ever had, not to mention the mad conversation we had about beans and genetics, i'd happily go through him again :)

i've been underwhelmed by blueberry. the two times i've scored it, the flavor was weak and artificial and exactly like getting a single grain of artificial blueberry flavored sugar on your tongue. i don't like bitter fruits like BB either so it just doesn't taste that special to me. it was probably watered down by growth under sodiums though and might live up to it's flavor better grown under halides, just as DJ shorts himself as well as jorge cervantes and dr atomic would suggest.

the stony euphoric buzz much like skunk #1 and masterkush too doesn't wow me either. i'd rather get high on a motivational and psychoactive strain. BB is all about euphoria and stone from what i've seen so far. i alsi tried some blue widow thatwas fair, but nothing special either, but for the same buzz, DNA sour cream kicks BB's ass to me. the flavor, even under sodium is both stronger and more authentic. it reminded me of cream cheese with hints of sweet fruit yoghurt... very creamy and dairy with a little sweetness. i click with that flavor a lot better.

in general though, most people love blueberry and it did get top votes in another forum's informal favorites thread just a few votes ahead of ALL hazes combined, and these days, blue dream haze is still pretty popular.

if i were to get a DJ shorts strain though, it would totally be his purple grape krush! i like grapes much better than most berries, and it's purple color is breedworthy.

for what it's worth, these opinions are biased against indicas and bitter berries, but this is a democracy, right?

I literally can't tell you how many times people have told me "oh ya I got some blueberry", and then either as soon as I look at it, or once we smoke it, its usually BS. Only once did a guy present some buds that I would have believed were actually blueberry. His didn't smell like a blueberry blunt wrap like others, but did have a sweet, slightly berry smell and taste. It had the slightest blue tint in a few spots on the buds, and the high was at definitely good, its been years so I can't remember how good.

I've had it happen many times with other buds too, I hate the way guys will just put names on shit to try to move it. I personally don't put much faith in any name I hear unless I know the garden it came from, or at least the gardener's reputation.

Thats the shit im talking about thundercat and to be honest ive only ever had it from DJ's blueberry. Ive had very close from sagarmarthas as well but DJ's had only the slightest sweet smell and the blue hue to it. The sweetness only really comes out once its cured for a few weeks minimum. Ive tried a mates dutch passion blueberry and it had the blueberry smell during flower and then went a strange sickly sweet smell once cured and didnt smoke well at all!

Hazey grapes you might like the true bluberry more. From what these guys have said, and what i've read the last week or so since this thread started, it is supposed to express a more even ratio of the indica sativa aspects of the genetics. Where as the original is more indica, and I know your a sativa guy. Though I suppose if you don't even care for the blueberry smell or flavor then the grape would be a better option still.

I've been wanting to grow DJ Shorts Blueberry for a while, but unfortunately his seeds are out of my price range. :(

How does Berry Bomb from Bomb Seeds compare to the original Blueberry?
