patient room mate?

got laid off a couple months ago and it's starting to catch up to me a bit. I have a patient who is looking for a place and asked if I needed a room mate to help with bills. my first response was no, and immediately at that but I have been thinking about it and it would help with expenses. he's a friend since grade school (known him close to 2 decades) and he has helped me trim before since he is a patient of mine.

the answer seems obvious to not have anyone living with me while I'm growing but was hoping someone can chime in with a success story about having a room mate while growing.

Sure, why not? To me the biggest reason not to have a roomie would be to hide that you're growing. In this case he already knows, and if he hasn't run his mouth to others about already then what difference would it make if he lives there?

The only draw back to me would be if he is the type of dude that likes to have company over a lot. If you lay down the rules ahead of time, it could be a mutually beneficial arrangement.

Roommates always sounds like a good idea, initially.
For some odd reason, I think I have regretted it every single time.

Only good roommate is one that you are banging. (think I read that on a furtune cookie before.)

Coin toss!! Look at this like dealin with your daughters who are heiress' covered in gold.

Still trust him?

If so set up ground rules.
Renter not partner
Paid for his help
U paid for your meds

I would also set a time limit, with possible extension.

Up here we just have em dig a hole in the woods... Just in case ;)

im mainly worried about the temptation to steal buds from the basement since the dry cab typically has about 14-15 oz. on hand for my patients. would be a big temptation I would think to just take a nug here and there

How much do you trust him? Does he do other drugs or drink? Will he invite people over you are not cool with?

It can be great to have somebody to help you out but you have to fully trust that person. I have a roommate that is leaving at the end of the month because he stole from me but he is an alcoholic and is untrustworthy when he is drunk. He was sober for over 2 yrs when he moved in but fell off the wagon when I was gone. He just moved here and needed a place to stay and I needed someone to take over at the time because I had to leave the state for a few months to help my mom and didn't want to stop my grow. Well I came back and he had cut plants 2-3 weeks early was selling without a scale, the plants looked like shit and he hadn't paid the bills since I was gone. Since then he is going back to AA has paid me back and is staying sober but he lost my trust so he understands why he can't stay here. On the other hand I have a friend who let me move in when I first moved up here and I was completely respectful and went out of my way to make sure I was a good roommate. I got him started growing 8 yrs ago and he moved up here before me and we trust each other as much as anyone can trust someone. So it depends on how much you trust the guy. I prefer to live alone but have some friends I trust completely and would/will trust to look over my garden if I go on vacation but have others that don't even know I grow. So if you trust him completely I would say go for it if you don't then its going to be more of a hassle then its worth.

If you need the help and can honestly trust the dude or chick then do it. It might turn out to be a good partnership. I would get him or her growing a small stash just to not feel left out when your harvesting your bushels.

You never know how much you dislike a person until they move in with you.
If this dude starts stealing from you, you won't be able to kick him out for a few months.
If you break his fucking fingers for stealing, the cops will ban you from YOUR grow.
Way way way too many things can go wrong.
The law is not on your side.
