1st Timer, not looking to spend a lot of money. Quick question

I appreciate you coming to my thread. Secondly, I'm going to buy fox farm ocean forest(unless you can suggest a better medium for what i'm looking for) and some perlite for probably a 70/30 mix. I really can't spend $45 bucks on the 3 bottles from foxfarm now; are there other VERY cheap ways i can substitute something or will i be ok with just the ocean forest and perlite? I know it's silly, but this isn't legal here and I'm basically doing it for fun so yield is not important to me, honestly if i can get a gram or two i'd be completely content.

I have a PC grow box with 3x6500 1800 lumens CFLs and 1 2700k 1450 lumens and I also have 3 other 2700k bulbs for flowering, my box is about 73-80 degrees and I have one exhaust and one intake. I have no circulation when it goes off the timer because my intake fan has as LED and I don't want to disrupt the plant's sleep. I mean im sure it's still getting oxygen so I'm not sure if this is a big deal.

Question: Can I use everything that i described + bottled poland springs water to at least have my plant yield SOMETHING and not die? Thank you for any advice you can provide, remember yield is not important to me this time, I'm just looking to have this little box produce any smokable quantity. THANK YOU!

amazing plant. Are the MG all purpose nutes chemical fluid form similar to fox farm tiger grow/bloom? How much did you pay for them if that's the case? Is that your entire protocal from seed > harvest? or do you switch any thing up? Thanks dude.

Also do i HAVE to test ph or can i just buy a gallon jug of poland springs or an equal name brand to water? I'm sure my plant will be very small, no where's near yours. My box only provides maybe 15 inches of growing room so i'll definitely be doing LST

Thanks.
The Miracle Grow is just the powder that you dissolve in water, about $6/ box at Lowe's, Home Depot or probably even Wal Mart, and I am just using my tap water.
It comes out at almost 8.0, but when I give straight water, I use White distilled vinegar to bring it down, but otherwise, just nutes.
This month I just started feeding with Cutting Edge Bloom, and (Veg & Bloom and molasses every third or fourth water), and Rock Resinator every other water.
The last pic was from last night, 22 days from first pistil.
I vegged for 28 days under 46w of 2700k CFL, and 52w of 5000k CFL.
I tried the first 30 day or so of flower on a 13/11 light schedule, and didn't see any pistils, so I switched to an 11/13, and then they started coming.
The plant would probably be more advanced than she is right now if had done the standard 12/12, or the current 11/13.

Unless you have real crappy water, it would probably be better to get a PH tester just in case, and use tap water.
If you have a low hieght limit like that, instead of using a regular 3 or 5 gallon pot (I would recommend as large as you can fit........ Mine is almost 3 months old, and I think my 5 gal. is full), try to find something a little shorter but wider.
Here's a pic where you can see better how I tied this one down, otherwise I'm pretty sure she'd be an easy 4' tall.jan21pic5_zpsaf107e10.jpg

what about no intake fan going when i have 6 hours lights off ? iim sure they are getting oxygen, but is it enough and do i really need the airflow to help strengthen the stems that a rotatary(sp?) fan would provide?

It would be good to leave your fan on all the time if you can.
An oscillating fan is fine, just don't have it so strong that it blows them over.
You just want to circulate air, and simulate wind.
**Note** Plants produce Oxygen, they want/ need Carbon Dioxide.;-)

I use promix from homedepot(drains really well). Cheaper than hydrostore promix . Fish Emulsion Fert (cheap at homedepot and can be used early at a 1/4 dose without burning plant), maxigrow and garden tone are my ferts that I use.

I spent more money building a box (tools included) then it would of cost just to buy a 3x3 tent lol. I ended up buying a 2x3 tent and I wish I had bought the 3x3 for 20 bucks more. Lesson learned.

Tap water left out for 24 hours in a open jug.

No need to buy expensive ferts or soils.

Sorry to disagree, but at night plants produce carbon dioxide. Respiration.

Also it would be okay to have the fans off at night cycle.

Table 1.
Comparison of photosynthesis and respiration
Photosynthesis
Respiration
Produces sugars from light energy
Stores energy
Occurs only in cells with chloroplasts
Releases oxygen
Uses water
Uses carbon dioxide
Requires light
Burns sugars for energy
Releases energy
Occurs in most cells
Uses oxygen
Produces water
Produces carbon dioxide
Occurs in dark and light

Wait, so plants only produce O2 during lights on?
Serious question, not being smartass.
Yep. They respire during light and dark. But when it is dark the plant stops producing O2 and only produces carbon dioxide.

Plants are interesting. I loved that part of biology 1000 lol.

Mollassas (wtf..spell check)
that is for the microorganisms right?

I'm thinking about buying some Mycorrizae for this grow. Like 2 bucks for a small pack of em at my hydro store.
