Okay to water plant before night cycle?

your kidding right? mold needs sunlight for photosynthesis, that is why hydro is not done in a clear res.... I am preferable to lights on since your plant is not in photosynthesis during the night and could just cause problems, that being said I have had to do wat aim said and seen no negative side effects, just prob would not make it a habit

"Mold and mildew are notorious for sneaking up on us and growing in dark, moist areas".

http://www.fsec.ucf.edu/en/consumer/buildings/basics/moldgrowth.htm

"Closets: Fungi like the dark and closets are rarely supplied with conditioned air as a standard part of air conditioning systems. As a result it is not all that uncommon to have mold or mildew occur in closets, especially on leather. Leaving the closet doors open to provide more conditioned air circulation or leaving the closet lights on with the door closed so as to raise the temperature (which lowers the RH) can reduce these problems."

Ok, your right, they grow in lights better.

My bad, jumped on you a lil bit. But my only mold problems have ever come from the light getting through my canopy to the soil and making this gray fuzz on the edge of my pots, always gone away once the canopy blocks the soil out. So you can see how my experiences led me to believe mold grows on a photosynthesis basis, that and as stated the whole res comment (if mold did not react to like hydro reservoirs would not need to be opaque). While they can grow in the dark they do not love it, nor do they like intense ass light or uvc. And he prob has a fan exchanging air (I hope) so the argument is kind of moot since your post says they need it to have like no air circulation for cultures to develop, probably not likely during a 12 hour dark period...

I know what ur talking about with the gray fuzzy shit, i got it too. It can grow dark and light, i was just posting to back up my statement, that it grows during dark..

I actually left the funi on the soil, since im using MG soil, the fungi eats up the nutes in the soil helping reduce nute burn. :D

When I was in 6th grade my class did a science experiment about it.. on bread though, not soil... could cause differences..

And hydro res need to be opaque because the roots need darkness...

interesting... I always just played with the soil with my fingers whenever I saw it starting, never got near the stem that how I kinda figured light related. The shit we learn that stick with us as kids right lol.

I keep it in one section, if it starts spreading i spray the soil with some neem oil and it all dies off.

I dont know if it actually uses up any of the nutes, but it makes sense.. untill some one shows me other wise, ill leave it lol.

Someone calling me?? I live in a desert so I really don't ever see mold but still like to water in the mornings. Easy to check the runoff quantity, etc. in the mornings with a clear head... usually too baked to deal with plants at night.
Im from colorado. I still don water at night.... Yup
