like the title says straight to the point, im growing on 24 hours of light a day for my autos... this is gonna be my first real run on autos, so i wanted to try 24 hours as an experiment before...

what do you prefer best for autos to grow?

how can 24 hours of light be a waste?

isnt the first 3 weeks of autos usually veg , why wouldnt 24 hours of light give it the fullest growth throughout the grow

IF that was the case the sun would light up the whole world up 24/7. It doesnt. Nowhere. All plants are adapted to 18-20 hoiurs of light during long months. Plus in the night is when there most active using all the energy they have stored

well my babies are only 4 days old so i have been thinking bout 20/4 i think i am gonna switch.... thanks

Im new to the autos aswell. Just ordered some Auto Anubis from Pyramid and Purple Kush Auto from Buddah Seeds. Ive been reading 20/4 is best possible for autos. Anyone grown auto anubis or purple hkush auto before? Nutes? Im Going to be using 5 gallon grow bags with coco, Entire cana Coco nute line aswell as all cana nute sups. 4k Switchables

It gets dark because the axis of the earth's rotation has a large component perpendicular to the plane of orbit around the sun. It has nothing to do with plants. Furthermore, marijuana is a C3 plant. This means that the light independent reactions of photosynthesis occur during the daytime, in the light.

Like i said. Plants adapted to it. But be my guest mr bill nye keep your lights on 24/7 and waste precious fossil fuels. More power to you

Hey, thanks for the compliment. Bill Nye is a great advocate for STEM education. Looks like someone's ass is a little chapped because their lack of elementary scientific knowledge was called out. I'm just going to go ahead and waste those fossil fuels as you put it... with your longer grow period, you're going to probably use the same amount of electricity in the end anyway.

You can chap my ass all day long with your scientific facts. I just stated my opinion on 24/0

I didnt ask for a stephen hawkings guide to the universe theory on some 24/0 schedule.

. Last time I grew autos it was 24/7 and turned out fine This time I'm going to follow the breeder's instructions save some electricity and go 20/4.

currently running 24/0 ..and i see no reason to cut the light schedule down..they are flowering regardless of light schedule so why not run the lights full time...as far as electricity..im runnin 2 led UFOs at 90watts and 1 125watt ull daylight spectrum CFL...my electric bill went up $10 bucks a month..but it is also winter so we ran the heat too some...so really eelectric isnt a factor atleast for me...i did just set the CFL in a 12/12 timer so my ladies get 12 hours of mostly red spectrum.

Day 46....approx 20 days into flower ..pics 1 NLxbb..pics 2and 3 NL

you are basing your statment on non genetic manipulated plants...these are autos we are talking about..the light schedule really doesnt play that much of a factor in my opinoin...you can give it 2 hours of light a day or 24 its still going to bud...only difference is how much you will yield...due to the variations of genetics in all autos i would think there really is no exact time to go by...from what ive read most succesfull growers run either 18/6 20/4 or 24/0 ...any of those should get you good results...just my opinoin though.
