Seedling Question

Hi guys once a seed is germinated and the taproot is placed in the rockwool in a propagator which is moist and under a 125 veg bulb, once I see the leaves green must the top of the dome be removed (suffocation) of the plant, or it will be fine ?

Seedlings will be fine under a dome for the first week or 2, they light high humidity.

Just make sure you remove the dome and get some airflow on them to strengthen them.

Cheers for the quick reply, how often should I remove the dome and for how long should I leave the dome off for ? also is john innes #2 compost good for planting a seed to make a mother ?

take the dome off each day or every other day if you can, I am trying to water my seedlings everyday but with different lights

I've never used john innes myself but I know a few people that have and have had decent results.

Really all you need is a good base and build from there.

most domes have turnable vents open a little more each day or lift lid a little and prop it up a little to get a little air in there and whin them off of the high humitaly

Canna terra and biobizz are both really good mixes. I've never heard of Atami though.

Just do some research around here see if anyone else uses them. I know canna products and biobizz there are for sure people using them around here.

You don't need the dome. They will get their water from the medium. They have no leaves to absorb the moisture in the air anyways and are subceptable to fungus and stem rot.
