Hey RIU! i feel that the journal gets no attention and i would like to see some comments on my plants so i moved over here and i will be sticking with this thread.

For veg im using 6x 23 watt 6500k and 1x 125watt 5000k.

growing in 70% FFOF 30% perlite
theres a humidifier in there and a fan. trying to lower temps but its hard!
on friday im buying http://www.amazon.com/EnviroGro-FLT24-2-Foot-Fluorescent-System/dp/B002JQBQZQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1360691691&sr=8-1&keywords=2ft+4+tube+t5

i think this will eliminate some of the heat or at least bring it off the plants a little.

There 2 weeks old from pop. lmk what you think!
1-exodus cheese fem
2-chill-om reg
3-auto somango
4-grow closet

Your temps are perfect dont worry about them. My temps get into the mid 80's with no issues. Plants look good. Be sure to get 3000K bulbs for flower.

thanks neal, i have 2x 68watt 2700k and 2x 42 watt 2700k cfls i will definitely use and will buy 3000k for the new t5 prolly half way thru flowering to boost. Doing this im hoping to minimize stretch but if this isnt right tell me please! i will buy new bulbs for t5 right away if it will be better.

You'd rather 5k than the 3k bulb bro! What you've got right now looks and sounds adequate for sure bro.
Keep the lights lights not more than 2" away at all times and you'll be thankful you did it in the end.
If you start out keeping the nodes tight, you'll have more of a bush in the end.
Also IDK how far into the learning curve you might be, but def. study up on LST if you haven't already!
Keeping your plants shorts and tight is the key indoors.
There are ppl in here with lanky plants doing good things too, so there's more than one way, but based on my personal experience yo uwanna train early and often to produce numerous flower sites! Good luck :joint:

Yessir. Plants use most light from the bluer 5k rather than the 3k which is more orange(spectrum wise). For flowering you want 27k theoretically but lots of ppl flower with MH which are 42k and up. With CFLs, I sure your better off with a mixed spectrum.
Say you got 5 bulbs for flowering maybe mix and match 3 27k + 1 5k and one 65k.

Well, I'm a n00b but I would imagine it would have to do with the size of the plant and room you have to grow in. I'm planning on veggin til they are about 2ft out of their pots, cuz I only have a 4-1/2 foot ceiling on mine. And I heard that if it's not an auto you should wait till you see pistils on ur nodes then take a cutting..(optional for clone)..and start her flowering.

If you only have a 4 1/2 ft ceiling, you may want to flower sooner or do some kind of training. They will usually dbl in size when switched. That doesnt leave you any room for your lights over top.
To the OP, you may want to look at the 4ft t5s. You,re goimg to need to spread those girls out some and i dont think a 2ft t5 would give you the coverage you need. Also make sure theyre the 54w t5s

well nick, i really wish i could fit a 4ft in there but i cant i have a 3.5'x3.5'x9'tall closet so i cant fit a 4ft t5. So i gatta buy the 2 footer. but with supplemental cfls i think it will work. i also plan on training both of the non autos but not touching the auto. so that should utilize my space.

How close do you keep t5's to foliage?

ZB,

I have 95w T5HO bulbs and they're maybe 4-5 inches above the canopy of my tallest colas. I have 150w HPSs as well which hang at roughly the same level as the T5HO. And you should flower like they both mentioned above. It's just depending on the space you have. Utilizing LST and keeping that lights as close as possible will help keep your node spacing short and the stretch won't be as bad.
I've survived my stretch keeping all of my plants under 2ft tall. They're no longer tied down half way thru wk 5 of flower becuase they're not getting taller. They're changing to the point where the calyx's swell and the buds start to look more like buds. They say around this time vertical growth is done and I can vouch for it.
And you'd rather deal with getting leaf burns sometimes from having to move the CFLs away due to the plant growing, rather than having the CFLs to far away and the plant stretching for the light. Just my 2cents bro :joint:
