First Grow Outdoors! (Have a few questions!)

Hey guys i'm new to these forums aswell to growing marijuana. This is my very first grow. I plan on planting 60 Guerilla gusto seeds because they are for beginners and I think they're just an all around efficient plant. I live in Long Island,New York and have a nice woods area to do my first grow in which is about 30 minutes away from my house . There's a stream about 200 feet away from where I plan on growing. I've been planning on growing for a few months now. I have a few questions and I would greatly appreciate it if you guys can answer them. 1. Once I germinate the seeds, should I plant them straight into the ground or should I leave them in pots in the house or outside and for how long? 2. For 60 seeds how many 12 quart fox farm ocean soil bags would I need to cover all of the plants throughout their whole growth cycle? 3. How deep should I dig the holes? should I mix natural soil with my organic soil? 4. There's a stream a few hundred feet away from my growing area, could I just scoop water into a bucket and water them? or would my plants need a certain pH water? 5. How often should I water the plants? 6. How many days in approximately or how big should the plants be before they start showing there sexes? 7. Should I top my plants for a bigger yield? Also do you guys recommend anything else?

I'm also new but I can answer a few of those questions. First I would leave the plants in pots for a while till they get strong enough to transplant which is maybe a foot long or when the stem is strong enough to handle the wind or other plants trying to grow around it. Second, if your going to eventually plant them straight into the ground then i think a 12 quart foxfarm bag can probably handle 15-20 seeds till they grow big enough to plant into the ground. Also if you want to save money i would mix the foxfarm with something else like a cheaper soil or I personally mixed mine with peat moss which hold the water really well. Third, the water from the stream is probably full of nutrients and is chlorine free so it should be perfect for your plants. I use water from a small plastic pond in my backyard which is full of fish and turtles and it works great. I water my plants only when the soil is dry on top so I don't over water them. You can visually see its dry or you can poke it with your finger to feel if its wet. Fourth, when your digging your holes you should allow enough room for all the soil in the pot + a few inches for some more soil under the plant that way the roots have a healthy start to spread to. I'm not sure if the dirt in the woods is good enough for them but its always a safe bet to provide them with some additional nuts and a good foundation to grow on.

what he said ..dude your going to need some serious land to do 60 plants..wouldnt put them all together,, i would top just to keep them low and out of site from helo's and dea.. hint if you plant down stream and NOBODY will see use a garden hose with a 2 ltr bottle and the end cut off screw it in the hose put it in the stream and use the gravity and force of the stream to water.. 60 plants are going to need serious water.. the bottle is like a funnel then sped the hose out where needed. use a green one to blend in.. they sell irrigation kits real cheap at lowes.. 200 ft away from a stream and 60 plants would scare the shit out of me.. good luck KEEP ON GROWIN..

Thanks for the replys guys! appreciate it! But.. I don't have any indoor setups or lights to start them off, could I start them outside? and I heard that foxfarms will burn the plants if they're too young, what soil or products should I start them with?

I'm using foxfarm and it didnt burn my plant till i transplanted it to a bigger pot with more foxfarm in it. But im not sure if the stress hurt it or the foxfarm.

im doing my semi - fist outdoor also with gusto

so goodluck

i dont think u should do 60 in one spot it will attract way too much unwanted attention

if your river is much more then a creek u may want to travel a little farther away also because of fishermen and people like myself

(i walk rivers just for the hell of it because its great exercise and an all around good adventure )

also with 60 plants ur going to have to do a shit ton of digging and alot of it will probably be for no reason because u will get males since gg doesnt come feminized

if ur woods is only 30 mins away from an urban area im guessing alot of people probably use those woods for their outdoor recreational activities as well

goodluck again and i will try to come check this thread out once in a while to see how things go for

Plant outside after the last frost, unless you have a greenhouse of course.

You can pick up a couple 32 watt fluorescent fixtures (shop light) at Walmart for $10.99 a piece, and fluorescent plant and aquarium bulbs at home depot for $10 each. Total cost - a little under $50.
