OK here's an old man's advice. Take your nutrients. Place them in a safe deposit box at your bank. When you wonder if you need them take pics (with HID lighting off) and post. If numerous experienced growers suggest nutes then go to your bank and retrieve them. Otherwise forget the nutrients until further notice!!!!!!! That or be back on here "Help! Is this a problem . . ." posting.

Hotrodharley is right. I use Fox Farms nutrients and Happy Frog soil and you should not need to feed your plants nutrients for a few weeks. If you do start feeding them, start at half strength. Other than that it sounds like your ready to start. Remember it's not rocket science it's just a plant. Keep it simple and with the good support you'll get here; in a few months you'll be smoking your own grow. Good Luck and Good Growing.

Wow! I think i really needed to here that AZP, I think i have over thought the proccess of growing to the point of almost taking all enjoyment out of the process .That is something i really dont want to do. Thanks man

hey man welcome to the forum and good luck with your grow. keep things simple, you don't need crazy elaborate expensive things to have a good grow. and try not to over think things, I know its hard to do but don't freak out when a small problem arises. and do plenty of research which im sure you are doing. if you ever have any issues, post a thread with PICTURES. oh and since you are new here, don't EVER and I repeat EVER listen to bmeat.

Under water and under fert.../\ this is the best advice...

Pick up a dry weight pot, and notice how much it weight is... learn the dry weight....

Seedlings, or clones ? Start with small pot, then trans plant into bigger... No ferts until roots are good...

Good Luck man... welcome...

I dont know if you havr these things already but i would add an ocillating fan to your pile O goodies. Id also grab a couple spray bottles and a 10$ mini jug of neem oil. Bugs can really mess things up and spraying every couple weeks or so with neem could save you alot of headachs. Also some light timers and a cheap ppm meter wouldnt hurt. You also should check your electrical box and see how many amps your breaker can take. If you know an electrician and want to upgrade, befor you set this all up would be the best time, know what I mean Vern....?

Consider investing in HID lighting at some point in the near future if you really want the best product you can get.
Also keep an eye on LED lighting, IMO, it is the grower's light of the future. Another 5 or so years and LED will be the best light system available.

CFL is about as half-assed as you can do it. Regardless of the handful of CFL users defending it, sure it will work, but it isn't going to get you the best product at the end. Anyone who has used CFL then switched to HID will say "damn, what a waste of time and money using CFL was."

Mr.ganga thanks for the advice!. I was a little too vague on what I posted earlier. I have all the items you have listed in your reply timer, fan, spray bottles ect. But the one thing i have not checked out was my electrical box. That was a worry for.me from the start being able to ru n all these electrical devices on househould box. thats one reason i thought i should go CFL my first time around. Hey man gotta say Love the Farley pic! He was one of the greats in my book.can u explain a little more on neem oil?

hell yeah Farley is the shit! neem oil is an extract, you just add some to water with some liquid soap and spray on the plants every couple weeks or so and it prevents pests. shit works amazing. im not sure the exact ratios but you can google that. when using pesticides you want something organic which is why neem oil is so popular. and you don't have to upgrade to HID but if you do there is a 400w hps mh dimmable light system on amazon for 120. and you can double even triple your yield with it. with cfl you can get the great quality but not the amazing quantity that is most desirable. you should start a grow journal ill follow that shit.
