How exactly do you flush a dwc? Do you get flush add it to clean ph water and keep it in there for a week, a day or wht? My fox farm nutes say to flush about every 2 weeks or so. I'm just following the schedule they give you but at half strength. Any help please

Whats the point in a flush if ue adding week nutes ?? Sorta defeats the object

Pure ph adjusted water mate I dunno if u can use the hat flush stuff mid grow

So your saying use ph water for a week or how long for a semi flush I guess I can call it. I know to use straight water for the last 2 weeks of flowering but how long should I flush for if its in the veg stage or beginning of flowering stage?

I never flushed my DWC... not until the last two weeks of Flower.

I would imagine if you feel you need to flush, you would just use plain pH'ed water

hey man ill actually give you some good advice, do a full flush on the system using h202 (hydrogen peroxide) to clean the system, without the plants in ofcourse. then empty, add nutrient and new water, run through. then add your plants back.

oh and sit your plants in clean phed water in a rubbermaid or the tub is the easiest way ontop of a rack of some sort so not to crush roots.

in your DWC "flushing every two weeks" is emptying it and refilling it.

basically take your plant out, and set the roots in some plain watter IN THE DARK so they dont dry out,, and clean your reservoir, refill it and plop your plant back in.

this is done so your reservoir water doesnt go sour, become toxic with unused nutrients or grow funk.


when the term "flushing" is used it generally means a period late in the flowering cycle shortly before harvest when the plant is given plain water only, no nutrients at all.


the theory is that hydroponic nutrients are made from "chemicals" and "chemicals" are bad. by eliminating these "chemicals" in the final week or two, your dope will not taste like "chemicals".

ITS BULLSHIT.

the fact is, in the last week or two of flowering your plant is not interested in grabbing more nutrients to promote growth. if you have sinsemilla'ed your dope and have no seeds, then the final week or so will be all about resin production and thc/cbd balancing, not growth so more nutrients arent really needed.

all the bullshit about "chemicals" is just nonsense based on stupidity and hype. i guarantee you, harvesting your dope from a plant that has been starved to death will not produce a better stone, nor will it result in bigger buds.

the only REAL reason to not feed during the last week in a hydroponic setup is financial. nutrients used to promote growth in the last week or so are wasted since youll be chopping before they are needed. in a hydro system NOT giving nutes in the last week before you chop is just saving you a couple bucks, stopping nutrients 2 weeks before you harvest is just dumb.

in a soil system, stopping nutrient delivery 2 or even 3 weeks before harvest is fine since the soil will hold plenty for the next few weeks anyhow. you can save yourself the cream from the nutrients you would otherwise be throwing away when you change soil for the next go-round.

some clowns sell "flushing solutions" which promise this and that, but its all crap. there is no way to strip nutrients from a plant with any magic juice, and even if such a magic potion did exist (it does NOT) you would be killing your plant BEFORE you harvest and thats stupid.

some dirt growers think that in the last two weeks you have to run shitloads of water through your dirt to wash away all the "chemicals" and thats silly. harmless, but silly.

I get what your saying. Appreciate all the opinions guys thanks. Still think I'm going to run straight water the last 2 weeks though. My bucket stays pretty clean so I don't think I even have to clean it all like that. I'm just going to empty at every week an add good water and nutrients. It's an autoflower so it's going to be done shortly. Only about a week old right now though. Anybody
Grow autos in dwc? Any tips. Ppm schedules?

I'm all for the legalization of MJ, and the right to grow, BUT, talking about punching a child in the face FOR WHAT EVER REASON, IS CROSSING THE FUCKING LINE BUDDY...I don't care how you meant it, only a low life peice of shit would hit either a child or a woman.
