Just added pro-tekt to the lineup,my hydro store recommended it due to my low ph problems during flower....anybody have experience with this product?

I use 3ml/gal for clones

2ml/gal for seedlings

5ml/gal for flowering plants

Have to add this first and mix it up and then add the other things.

Protekt is a silicon supplement, it is for building stronger plant walls not adjusting ph. All additives shoould be added after main nutes and before adjusting ph to prevent potential lockouts.

Right. It should aslo help keep my ph level up seeing how it is alkali...correct? Has to be better than dumping a redicilious amount of ph up

he is right read the bottle. the protekt will react with nutes unless diluted first. but you may be able to dilute and add after nutes like superstoner says, id be interested to hear why it creates lockouts if added first? (it says add first on the bottle) but i will definately dilute and add after nutes if thats better, i just want to be sure so please lemme know why

I've screwed up and added Pro-tekt last and it balls up kinda showing white strands of goopy looking shit. I think that's why you put in the water first... doh!

I think it chelates the other nutrients present.

Also have to rinse the pipette used(if you use one, I do)

Add pro-tekt first and let it mix for a couple minutes. If you don't do this, the shit will turn to plastic in your res. Take a shot glass, pour in some protekt, pour in some nutes, observe.

He recommended it for your low ph because protekt raises your ph and running silica is good anyway for the already mentioned benefits.

TRUE, however because of its high pH I am able to use it to keep my pH in balance. A dilute solution of ProTekt works well to adjust the pH of an otherwise properly buffered nute solution.

seems to be working as a buffer pretty well. Not sure of any benefits i mite see from it seeing how im alreasy 3 wks into flower.
