you may have to bottom feed those plants to avoid dry pockets in the soil.
just a thought i would say you are ready for a watering just my opinion.

I gave them a light watering this morning...they are looking no better, maybe even worst.

I'm not far away from ditching these dirt dwelling dwarfs

transplanted the best 2 ...going to transplant the third into a larger pot to live in the living room with sunlight only....pouring rain today so I'll wait a bit.

yes, I'm pleased with the hempy....but the dirt devils are not doing so well at all...they seem to be way behind my first grow in soil
It's my understanding, when running side-by-side hydro/soil-less (I assume that's what hempy is?) vs soil....soil always lags behind. The trade off most people seem to say is that soil-grown will taste better.

yeah, hempy is the most simplistic form of hydro, a 2L pop bottle filled with 3 parts perlite and 1 part vermiculite, with a side drain hole about 3 inches up.

I'm not sure about taste but I think hydro typically does grow faster than soil...... but I'm no expert

yesterday afternoon turned really nice and sunny, so I transplanted the third plant into a large pot, today is sunny as well.

I gave the hempy a topping/FIM

What potting soil did you use ? I started using black gold from an ace hardware in 3 in peat pots. Once the roots started growing thru the bottom I moved in to 1 liter containers with my garden soil mix. Eventually these will go out to the woods :) in a couple or three weeks.

I just used this generic "Dutch Treat" potting soil from a local garden store, as I had used it last year for my indoor/sunlight grow and it worked well.

I will likely try the hempy approach for this year's indoor/sunshine grow but will use a larger container, maybe a 3 gallon bucket
