That 4100k flourescentt bulb is worthless for growing try to get a 3000k(flowering) or you could even use 5000k or 6500k.........
Ya I have heard so many people say this, but I have used 4100k bulbs and have had no problems or issues whatsoever. Works great actually in my opinion, and I have seen people have the same results.

...here's a link that will help explain why 4100Kelvin is definitely NOT useless in flower and in fact does a fine job of growing some hellacious buds.

Ceramic Metal Halide (CMH)

...and here's a few grows using these PL-Ls, ...keep in mind that one of the chief benefits to using CFLs (PL-Ls are a form of remote ballasted CFL) is your ability to tweak the spectrum you deliver to your plants and blending your light to offer a mix of spectrum's will always do better than just using one spectrum.

downsize this. 2x55W pl-l. original haze & more.

Vert PL-L 550Wflo/110Wveg NGB,Drbud cab

330w Pl-l aero scrog.

110 watt Pl-l micro ScrOG

Anti's MicroStealth Cab 4000 (The PL-L adventure!)

...these are some fine examples of what a dedicated stoner can do with ordinary fluoro's.

peace, bozo

btw, here's a shot of a couple White Rhino's i grew under a 400CMH (4100Kelvin) and each yielded nealy 2 zips from 2liter Coke-bottle hempy-buckets. ...so almost a quarter elbow from only 4 liters of medium.

Pics or it didn't happen:).......just did a little re-read and bozo was talking about a Ceramic Metal Halide 4100k bulb during flower........I will say again 4100k flourescents are worthless for flowering, I get waaaayy better results with 2700,3000 even 5000k flourescent bulbs.......remember theres always a better way.peace

Ok fixed the light issue and she's up and mounted, please let me know what u think.View attachment 2477617here she is all wired and grounded. View attachment 2477619Just a few alterationsView attachment 2477621 Now she fits on the top of my stand, perfect size. View attachment 2477623And so much more lightView attachment 2477626I added the old clamp on lights as well, View attachment 2477631Solved the bulb moving issue by using extra electrical tape to hold thw wires tighter, it gives me a little play as far as position too.View attachment 2477643...
The 'wire nut' in picture #1 is undersized for the number of wires you have there... [that looks like a 72B Wire Nut]
Go bigger please, to at least a Red one...
All wire nuts are rated size wise to the number of wires allowed under them.
Just double check it, wouldn't want it to come loose, and touch your hood, and ... well it could become shocking...
Hood grounded ?

...yeah, that's not exactly true man, 4100Kelvin is almost exactly the spectra of a CMH, ...i use nothing but 4100Kelvin PL-Ls in my clone/seedstart box and i get way more growth than i can handle.

I agree 100%, I have used 4100k bulbs with great results. It's the CRI or color rendering index that's most important when talking about the light used by plants for photosynthesis. I hate when people say they are useless (4100k CFL's) or have no usable light when they have no idea what they are talking about.

The CRI or color rendering index or a light bulb is more important for what usable light is coming from it that is used for photosynthesis, not the color temperature. This Critical Auto I am growing is at 5 - 6 weeks under a majority of 4100k light (45 watt 4100k T5 CFL CRI 735) and I have been happy no issues at all. I have also compared this to others with the same strain and looks like i'm doing great in comparison. There is always a better way, but your way is no better than mine.snapshot (1).jpgsnapshot (2).jpg
