So ive had a metal halide 1000w in my hood for about 10w and just changed to a hps last night and it was working when i left the room, but i wasn't in there for to long after maybe a minute to two max. Went down there today and the light was off. My 1st thoughts were i had messed up the timer. But come to find out everything is on and working just fine but the light. I unplugged and plugged it back in and it turned on. Stayed on for about a minute or so before shutting off. did this a few times the light didnt seem like it was over heating or anything like that. It turns on and starts up just fine before shutting down and flickering. If I unplug and plug it back in it turns on for about 30 seconds before shutting back off the inner tube of the hps, at this point is glowing red still not to hot tho. if i try it again it turns on again for about 30 seconds then again shuts down this time the inner tube will be glowing a purple color. So Ive removed the blub put back in my metal halide for now. But the inner tube of the hps is spotted and black now. Someone please help I also want to add that this is a brand new 2 month old bloomerang 1000w metal halide and hps, with bloomerang 1000w dimmable electronic ballast, and 6" aircool tube 1000w bloomerang hood
