Ordering equipment for new grow tent tonight... Advise?

Hello Everyone,

Long time reader first time poster. I have been growing outdoors for the longest time now and have decided to give a go at indoor. I was wondering if you fine ladies and gents could take a look at the equipment and let me know if I am on a good track. I have about $700 to spend on getting this going with EVERYTHING so price is a bit of a snag for me. Luckily I already have massive quantities of OceanForest, 3 gallon buckets and the collection of FF nutes.

Here we go:

I look forward to your advise and input.

Dude - buy a 1000 watt light. Seriously. Buy a dimmable if necessary for heat control because the light will last far longer than the tent.

Even a 600 dimmable so you can move up. His tent has 4" vents and his stuff is 6".

From what I have been reading on these boards is that 1000w will cause too much heat for a tent this size. I have upgraded to the 600w kit as it was only $20 more than the 400w kit:

ALso as for the vent sizes... My wife is excellent at sewing so the first modification I am going to have her make to the tent will be turning the vents into 6".

$80 more =/

I was going to find $80 worth of savings to make up for up, but your already running pretty lean. 4'x4' is about perfect for a 600 though.
I really wish I could. Unfortunately I just do not have the space for it right now in my townhome. In 3 months when I move into my new house it will be a different story as I will be able to have a dedicated room. For now this is just to experiment and get me started on indoor.

Well it is all ordered now and will be here on Wednesday. Thank you everyone for your advice and input, I really look forward to getting this started!

Well, everything arrived and I was able to get it all set up. I ran the light at 75%(450W) for about 12 hours with the booster fan blowing air in and the Active Air fan exhausting. The tent maintained an internal temperature of about 79 degrees and my room temperature was maintained at about 76 degrees.

One thing to note on the tent, even though the description says that it had 4" vents the tent actually had 6" vents so there was no problem or any modification needed there... Now I just cannot wait to start growing something!!

I've always grow outside also. when my house burnt down i lost my t5s so this year after the rebuild I had to buy new lights so I decided to get a 6oo mh hps combo and to grow inside and outside this year. good luck.
