As far as I can tell the biggest obstacle in security that I'm going to face is the complication of aroma.
THE QUESTION: Is there a particular set of nutrients which will mitigate smell to any degree, but still maintain optimum results?
This is my first grow.
I'll be using a 3-gallon DWC setup. One or two plants to start, although I could certainly fit more.
The rest of my setup is as follows; Cabinet constructed using 1/4-inch medium density fiberboard (MDF)[ 2ft x 2.5ft x 5ft], which I have thoroughly caulked and re-caulked. 250 Watt ballast, with MH for veg, HPS for flower.
The only non-airtight aspects of the box are two 120mm computer fans for cooling/air-circulation, and a squirrel-fan + carbon filter to control scent. The cabinet itself will be in the corner of an unfinished basement in a medium size suburban house. It's fairly out of the way, in a place which experiences basically no foot traffic. Keep in mind, in addition to security (most important) my goal here is to not bother the rest of my family, who are aware of my project, but PROBABLY don't want it to stink to high heaven.
I intend to grow a few crops of tomatoes and peppers before moving on to the more advanced horticulture.
All that being said, the strain I intend to grow will be Black Domina, when I've decided I'm familiar enough with the setup.
I've heard conflicting opinions as to whether or not Black Domina is a heavily-scented strain. (Secondary Question: Is Black Domina particularly fragrant? And exactly how stinky are we talking, here?)
[[[EDIT Final Question : What Nutes brands are people using with their own Black Domina? What's giving good results?]]]
So, to recap--------------------------------the questions
1) Are there any good nutes out there which mitigate smell, but don't impact production?
2) Is Black Domina a very smell strain? How smelly?
3) Disregarding the first question of scent reduction, what nutrients are providing the best results for Black Domina grows out there?
