when i got home (texas) from the navy in summer 82 there was a light green, lots of red hairs, big bud and piney smelling smoke everywhere. it was a good tasting and good high smoke that i haven't seen in years. can anybody remember this strain? we always called it christmas tree bud. it had to be coming in from mexico, but don't know for sure, but everybody had it, it sold for 35.00 a oz..

$35 was standard price for Mexican in 82', then the Reagan's fucked it all up.

Was it seeded?. We used Christmas tree more as a description for un-seeded domestic back then, much of which was grown in Kentucky/WV area.

I remember the x-mas bud. I think it was a close relative of the original northern lights. That one and the Real Skunk weed are long gone.

i tend to agree, it does look a lot like northern lights, but i thought northern lights came in the late 80's to early 90's.

Early 80's is what I am thinking. I have had what people call NL but it is nothing like what I remember. I remember a very airy pure sativa. It grew like 15 feet tall and smelled like Xmas.

the more i think about it the plants i grew from this stuff were tall, maybe 8' to 9' on most with a pretty good yield.
