Hey just an fyi op, as you use your hps tube the inside tube as you use it will start to blacken at either end as the lifespan wanes keep an eye on that cayse the darker it gets you need to be buying a replacemtn then not when it blows out! Just a heads up from a grower who can think rationally when stoned lmao!

I was looking at my reflector earlier and the heat from my 600 watt hps burned the top of the aluminum reflector a bit on the inside above the bulb.. not sure what to think of that

Did you peel off the plastic lining on your reflector?

I think you are referring to the position, horizontal or vertical. Some bulbs are to be mounted in either of those specific positions. Others are universal and be mounted in any position.

Well, it sits horizontal, and one 'side' of the discharge tube is clouded (condensed halide salts) so I try to keep the clear side pointed down. Might not make much difference, but I'm a little obsessive.
