Yes, RIU is definitely the go-to for anything cannabis/glass-related, you're in the right place. As Blue Wizard mentioned, the crash course tutorial is in the Glasshouse. :D

The best way is to find someone who is already doing it- but not pipes/bongs- to teach you so you get the right Kiln/equipment and set-up correctly. Many people learn from reading, but things can be misinterpreted... learning by doing and being taught- even if just 1-2 times, is usually a good bet... BUT: READ UP 1st! ;)

Agreed. Learn by doing with those who already know. +rep for this one.

Glass blowing is an art form that is hard to master and takes years of dedication, money, love, etc...
most people give it the old college try and never follow through....

you need a torch, tanks of fuel, a kiln, raw materials and a space that you can temp control fairly easily... (it gets hot!!!)
and certainly an experienced glass-blower to show you the ropes.... small mistakes can give you major burns or useless equipment.

not something I would attempt without guidance...

again, talk to someone who is extremely experienced....
I'm sure you 'could' but there are probably also SOOOO many things that you dont know about it that it could be a waste of time and money...
so say you get a small propane torch..and you have no kiln...what's the use?
then you have a small torch and a small kiln and once you get the hang of it...you might realize that the small stuff was a waste of your time and money....
and that you can only make one-hitters and small bowls and are then left wanting better tools and no money to put into it...

I did this with growing... tried to get off cheap and with the fewest supplies...
slowed me down by a whole year....
