Any updates on MMJ and Guns

Sure. What's evil to one may not be evil to another. All things are many things. It's all about perspective.
This is so true. In the 90's I chased evil around the world as it committed letter of the law acts of war against this country: Marine Barracks, War Ships, Embassies, etc.. When the leader of these acts of war and evil was turned over to my Commander & Chief at that time, he passed looking at it as crime instead of the acts of war/evil they were and would later claim thousands of innocent lives on Sept 11, 2002. Fools cannot learn from history they do not understand and/or acknowledge.

We are not talking about war.

Would you consider a war against evil, evil?

I agree you were not talking about war. But if you think the war we are in is actually against evil and not just a business move the problem lies with the education system and media. I forgive you for misunderstanding though.

Going to war for oil is evil, especially when we have enough of our own. Going to war against someone like Hitler or Hussein is not.

Again, this isn't a thread about war. Guns are inanimate, men may or may not be evil.
Any of these judgments regarding right or wrong, good or bad, evil or not, are opinions based on ones perspective. I like that we have a seemingly endless diversity of opinions and perspectives. To label something one thing without having the ability to view that thing beyond that label is dangerous and takes away from our diversity. It causes division rather than unity. That was what I was trying to get at.

I do not agree with most of the reasons we are engaged in our current war(s).

I have promised myself to try and avoid the political stuff on RIU. It always ends badly. BUT, I have to chime in on this article. I think it's ridiculous to compare our president to Hitler. I'm convinced that the vast majority of politicians are crooks. Both Republican and Democrat ... but for the life of me I can't understand how people think that Obama is any worse than George W, Clinton, Bush 1, Reagan, Carter, Nixon, etc. If he was truly pushing for "socialism" we would have a single payer health care system right now instead of the big corporate giveaway known as Obamacare.

Did Bush and Cheney know all about 9-11 before hand and helped to make it happen? Some people believe that, and imo that's equally as bat shit crazy as drawing comparisons between Hitler and Obama.

There aren't going to be any brown suits knocking on your door to take away your guns no matter how much the talking heads suggest otherwise.

facepalm.

Although democrats and republicans are just two sides of the same filthy coin, history does repeat itself. They won't go door to door just yet. They chip away at it little by little. Requiring licenses to exercise a right, mag bans, tax stamps, (where have we seen that before), monthly purchase limits, gun free zones, etc...

I have no use for talking heads, but here's a little propaganda for you.

It's not so off topic. They have used the drug war, mostly pot (!!!) to subvert our rights, and condition the public into accepting a police state, which we now have. This has opened the door wide to continue their socialist agenda.

Batshit crazy. I guess thats what you get after years of daily study, contact with LEO, legislators, and people from all walks of life related to the subject at hand.

Many countries have stricter gun laws than the US and are relatively peaceful countries. You don't mention those only the absolute atrocities. For studying daily it really seems odd that you're studies lead you to only present one side of the story.

I dont speak for what goes on in other countries.

What I can tell you, is that there is no way to get the criminals guns from them. Theres no way to get a criminal to obey laws, they break them, which is by definition what a criminal is. Therefore, creating more restrictive gun laws applies only to the law abiding. And if you are somewhere that a criminal brings his gun, you are at a greater disadvantage without a gun than with one. It's common sense really.

You do use examples in other countries. One of the things you posted earlier mentioned gun confiscation in other countries followed immediately by the death totals in that country in the following years. Outside of you using what happens in other countries ONLY when it confirms you're own belief this particular excerpt is leading people to believe this atrocities are a direct result of gun confiscation. That is a stretch at best.

Also there is a wide variety of criminals. Every revolutionary in the revolutionary war was a criminal. Martin Luther King was a criminal. Be specific of the things you fear because being afraid of all criminals is an odd position to take. Now if you were to say you want to be able to prevent a violent attack against you, a loved one or a stranger that would make more sense to me. Encouraging people to take up arms to fight criminals is dangerous in my estimation. It would be like starting a war on terror.

Please do not forget the recent hand gun bans of Washington DC and Chicago. These laws are not only ignorant as explained ^^^, but have actually caused many law abiding citizens to be slaughtered in their homes. This is now clearly documented in thousands of police reports and skyrocketing crime statistics plaguing those cites following said legislature. Has one politician been held accountable for these facts of the matter? Are these clowns still talking the same game they were then?
