has anyone grew with an upside down tomato basket?

I was wondering if anyone has tried that yet - growing your females in one of those upside down tomato cages/baskets. I think it'd be an awesome idea because towards the end when you harvest them you hang them upside down to drain the THC from the branches into the bud. So why not have them constantly drain into the bud the whole time?!?!?!? Right?

I've heard nothing but bad things about topsy turvy's... when you water the dirty water will go all over your plant, and your plant will just keep wanting to grow upward. why fight it? I dont think that you know much about how the plant works, maybe it would be good for you to research more and meanwhile grow a couple plants, perhaps following a journal or something. you will learn much by researching but also experiencing has a major part in learning how to grow

Sorry. I didn't mean the THC was in the branches. I meant so the rest of the nutrients can go down into the bud. But I think I'll just grow a few outside and maybe one day when I'll try it just to see what happens. Maybe I'll even put a mirror beneath it so the sun will bounce off and the bottom of the plant will get light. It may sound weird but I think it could work.

I think the dirty water all over your plant will be the hardest thing to overcome, other then that its no big deal I would think. The buds may grow odd shaped buds from them turning themselves to the light but whatever. It's basically going to be constantly LSTing your plant, could be more trouble then it's worth compared to other ways of growing a plant

dont use mirrors, they absorb light. use mylar or something like mylar like dimpled polished aluminum or even a flat white piece of something. be sure that if u have something on top of your pot that it isn't holding the moisture in the pot~ it can lead to stem rot/dampening off

This has been done before. Here on RIU I believe, but I can't remember which member did it. I had the thread favorited on my old computer but it broke. It has been done before. It looks pretty cool to see the plant grow back up right towards the sun.
