What I can't find easy ,is a slim design analog amperemeter,in the range 0-1000mA ....
They are all kinda "bulky " ....
(A digital one , is out of discussion ... )

Edit :

Most important "ingredient " for a successful led light design is ...:

To have along "competitive " high -class designers / specialists...
Sharing 'time' with them ....
Guod - Eraserhead - Hosebomber - FranJan -Hyroot ..to name a few ...

To have along great DIYers and "ready to experiment " growers ...
Sharing 'time' with them ....
Petflora-HiloReign-Chronikool-Bumping Spheda-PSUAGRO-Ganja2....to name a few more ...

And last but not least at all, all the rest of led -dedicated / fanatic " humble" growers ....

Sharing....

That's the main " knowledge/information pool " ,from where ideas
start to pop-out like small _shinny_colorful bubbles ....

(Trippy ... But true ...
Evolution needs a community,so to "unfold" ..
Not just a "solo survivor ".....)

Well ...
See for yourselves ...
Under 52 Watts of leds at plug ...
20/4 .
9 specimens ..

P3216427.JPGP3216426.JPGP3216425.JPGP3216424.JPGP3216431.JPG...

18-19 °C... 60-80 % RH ... Tap water only...(Not of good quality ,at all ... )

Had some issues with substrate and fungus ...
Had to spray all the substrate with a solution of CuSO4 & CaOH *...
( Mineral anti-fungus treatment /protection ....
But substrate gets 'poisoned' with excess Cu & Ca ...Flushed once after treatment ,though .)

Well ....

Inside tent ,digital meter : P3216421.JPG

Ambient temps : 18.9 ° C

According to outside tent meter (with it's sensor "out", inside the tent ),
ambient inside tent is 19.1 °C
P3216428.JPG...
Fans set to work at ~ 45.8 Volts .....
(producing quite low evel of noise ..)
Leds at @~350 mA ...
50-52 Watts ,everything ,at plug (plug of main PSU ) .....

K type thermocouple set at corner of central pcb ...At 'thermal copper pour' area ...
Aluminium tape used ,to install sensor . Offers great thermal isolation from external heat radiation (through reflectance ).
P3216429.JPG...

Leds at @~ 350 mA ..
Pcb temp ..25 °C ....
P3216430.JPG
Heatsink is totally cold ....
Air that comes out ,is totally cold ....
mcPcbs of leds are barely warm to the touch ...
(HI-HI-Hi ..Leds also are barely warm to the touch ....
Could not resist ...
I had to put my finger,to 'see' for myself ... !!!)

That is what I call cooling ...
....
Guod was right ,all along ,from start ... ...

...Fans added .
Placed pots differently .
Kept 8 of them ....

Stretching was expected.(Low flux levels -Red wls )

Other than that ,everything seems great ...

Hope your nutes have ample silicon to strengthen those long as stalks. A couple more leaf sets and they could topple

pretty awesome diy ya got there.. with those drivers do they get hot?? i'm using cat4101's and they get a little hot... i have to put ram heatsinks on them to dissipate the heat.. Are those still the recom's your using??

-Nope,they do not get hot ...
Not at a level ,that they would need added cooling aids ...

Anyway ,they do not work at their "max" potential ( ~56 volts ) ...
Approx at their half of max ..( ~31.5 Volts ...) ,driving only 12 leds ,each one...
(and I want to keep them that way ,within the adj. voltage range of PSU => ~39-57 Volts ...So that I can adjust fans speed ,without messing up led operation/dimming ..)
( Maybe,I could make each mcpcb array of 15 leds ,instead of 12 ....)

-Yes ,they are Recoms ...

-Leds are (to answer to another's thread question of yours ..)
WW: Oslon SSL 80 LCW-CQ7P.CC Random bin : JUKQ
Hyper (Deep ) Reds : Oslon SSL 80 LH-CP7P Bin: 3T

Were you not able to find specific bins for the oslons SDS?

Where did you buy yours from in the end?

I decided to go with oslon over XTE/ledengin combo for my next big panel...just gathering parts and finishing my XTE WW panel (which literally only arrived yesterday hahahahaha :D )

edit: oh one other thing... Am i right in thinking, that when red/deep red light hits a leaf, that which isnt absorbed would pass through and be shifted to far red spectrum, right?

So would lots of deepred in daylight hours be producing FR in the lower levels?

No ,I was not able to find specific bins for the WWs...

Just google " Osram Oslon emitter " ..You'll find some 'hints' where to buy them ....

Shifting wls through leaves ?
Hmmm ..Nope...

I'm thinking that true coherent light (through special crystals ) can only shift wls ....
Laser beams can be shifted that way ..
(i.e making cyan/ green & yellow lasers ,by using special crystals ( " half wl dividers " ) and an IR laser ...) ..
But ,I do not trust that this happens ,anywhere else ....At no other case ...
(Although , I might be wrong about it ... )

osram only has 2 bin-classes out at the moment for the .CC warmwhite 2700K leds

LCW CQ7P.CC-KPKR-5U8X-1 - 2700K (71.0 ... 89.2Lm )
LCW CQ7P.CC-JUKQ-5U8X-1 - 2700K (65.8 ... 82.0Lm )

the JUKQ-5U can be found, but not seeing the KPKR-5U in any shop for now.

higher bin-class only at 3000K available
LCW CQ7P.CC-KQKS-5R8T-1 - 3000K (76,3 ... 97.0Lm )

In fact ,my brother Pet ,it is the 50% vol . of perlite in the substrate that has ...ample silicon ....
No need for extra ...(Although ,silicon from perlite is not in an absorbable form ...But plant roots , can find the 'way',to assimilate ,what the plant needs, from perlite ..)

http://www.perlite.info/hbk/0031404.html

http://www.pennperlite.com/uses.html

But I'm pretty sure by now ,that I've done a huge mistake using Bordo Mix ..
Plants show early symptoms of copper toxicity ....(Stunted growth -thick dark roots -chlorosis )

And I've used way much Bordo mix ,to the substrate ..
Way-way much ...

( Why ? ..'Cause I'm an idiot ,of course !!!! )

I'm f@(k#D !

Did a second emergency flush ....

If they'll survive ...That would be nice ...

If not ....

New substrate ..
New seeds ...
Start all over,again ....

$hit..

Shit SDS!!! sorry to hear, yeah copper toxicity is one of the worst and usually DEATH=======hope they pull through for you

Any chance of an immediate transplant ??? way better than a flush at this stage............good luck brother

SEE for yourself ....

P3266438.JPG<= I've used more than 3 soup spoons of that crap treating each pot ...Which contains 20% w/w metallic copper ..
What the ..I was thinking of ?
My ex ?
I'm loosing it ?
Or I was too f.. stoned ?
Dunno ..Can't remember why I've used so much ....
I'm telling you ...I'm an idiot ,from times to times ..
If not ,most of the times ....
Anyway ....

Today is 7th day ....
P3266439.JPGP3266441.JPGP3266442.JPG
Flushed once more and giving them a bit more light ... ( @ 400mA )
P3266443.JPGP3266444.JPG...

That's why ,water resistant led fixtures are needed for growing plants ....
(Corrosion-proof leds ,insulating lacquer applied to all electronic/electric current bearing parts ,epoxy ,etc ) ...

P3266445.JPG..
Working for hours now, at 83% relative humidity ....

No probs ,at all ....
Not the slightest flicker there ....

Edit : There were some casualties ,already ...
6 left alive ....
