For the non local what kind of fishing gear should I bring? What kinda a fishies? Also saw they have mini mart, doo they have meats and stuff or is there a grocery store near? Thanks northern farmers in advance. Already starting to put stuff together. Its less then a month away you know!

!!!!! camp far west is mostly a bass and pan fish lake but there are trout and big catfish for those who like to night fish! I will be one of those fishing fools out on the water with a doobie in one hand and a beer in the other. and as for the mini mart, unless ur rich id carry in food from like winco in Yuba city or food for less in linda only about 30 min north

The mini mart really is just a 7-11 type mini mart. I would try to bring most of what you need. There are stores just a few miles away in Marysville.

420tycoon is right on the money as for fishing and everything. far west has huge catfish in it! 20 yrs ago we were fishing and drinking and my high school buddy caught a 8+ LB cat off the bank on chicken liver. Man that brought back memories ! I'm the only one of us 5 that's alive still.

Damn 8 LB? I dont think I've ever caught anything bigger than a medium sized rainbow trout.

Only if its off the shore. I went on a cruise last year and I got sick on that big asss boat. Although, I did take some dramamine and I was good . I might need to get that patch that goes behind the ear seriously.

The patches work well.
I take dramamine & don't get sick.
Just remember to take one at least 2 hrs before & again a few hrs later. Works like a charm.

One of the members last bbq caught a good catfish or two . It was flippin cold away from the fire in December. April is prime bass spawning time and warmer, catfish are moving more too for those that might camp. I worked on sportboats for years without getting seasick. Once I was off them for years I tend to get sick on the first trip until my ears get set. Dramimine didn't work for me but the Meclyzeane (spelling ) right next to it works great. No problems. I think it's the same stuff that the patch is ?
