I noticed its been pretty slow on the Maine forum. So how about we spark on some conversation, maybe bring some people out of the wood work, What do you for work? as a living? caregiver full time, nurse etc.. your experience with your career, how long you have been doing it, options about the position, salary, etc..
( please note: this not a thread to expose your personal work place, location, position, personal information or anything else, this is just a thread of conversation, If you do not feel comfortable about posting your career / job / position then do not)

I'll start.. CNC machinist, been doing it for 7 years.. pretty much can make anything out of metal, very demanding field and you can pretty much name your own price and work anywhere in the US at a shop if your good enough... I enjoy it but have a passion for a sales job and am currently working on that. pay is decent good machinist can make 50,000 + on 40 hours, 60,000+ on overtime which seems to always be available in this trade.

I spent 10-15 years in construction before a couple back injuries sent me back to school. I studied computer tech and the last 15 years or so as a software engineer. Another back injury not related to work sent me into early retirement. Also a caregiver for a few patients.

For the activities you describe you could get almost any machine, just find a good deal locally, like Best Buy, Sam's, etc. What's your budget?n
Not sure why you want a desktop, but the price of notebooks/laptops have really come down. Combine that with a wireless router and you can use the pc anywhere you want.

I am a full time caregiver. In the past I wrote Insurance for ten+ years as an independant broker. writing property and causualty, annuities, and ending with Medicare. I wrote for Northeast Community Care in Portland untill 2010. I also have had my fun in quite a few Golf club kitchens, as I love to cook and love to golf. After four years of spinal injections and countless pharma meds, I decided to make a change for my health by using herb for pain. As it turns out, I also have quite the green thumb. The name of my services is Herbal Remedy. I truly feel this is my calling, and have yet to have any complaints about the products I offer. I have learned so much from RIU over the past four years , and I thank all of you who have helped me. Thanks!
