Gonna Grow. The Natural Way.

Haha, yes, I imagine my little experiment will have it's problems, but look around.

Plants ave been doing pretty well without without our help for many millions and millions of years. I think that five WW plants can handle one summer without my help.

And if they can't, ah well. There's always next season.

Oh, and nutes and store bought dirt isn't necessary. The dirt around here (IE, a temperate rain forest) is already mulchy compost goodness. Plants love love love it.

Speaking of which, you guys should SEE the blackberry vines around here. Acres and acres. Oh man, and the end of this summer, I'm going to be in pie and jam heaven.
Boy, am I envious of that! Of course, you do happen to live pretty near a volcano that's still somewhat active.. but hey! Everyone knows that volcanic soil is some of THE best, right? You've gotta take your chances, it's a trade off. I thought your Mother Nature bit was funny, too.. beset with poison monkeys.. what the fuck? Anyway, were our "soil" not so hard, rocky, and better than the clay that it is, I'd be growing directly in the ground. But it isn't, so I'm not.

Oh yeah, how about just using urine to fertilize if it's really needed? You can dilute to just about any strength. I would assume that the actual percentages and ratios of N-P-K in a given individual's pee vary a wee bit (get it? ), but most fertilizers use 'ammoniacal nitrogen' or urea. That's pee.

Yes, I've actually thought about pee (in the sense if I was out there and had to go, why not, it's got some good stuff in there), but ultimately against it.

If I was spotted wandering around a giant blackberry field like a dummy, whatever. If I was spotted peeing in a giant blackberry field like a crazy person, someone is going to mind that.

My grandson would absolutey love peeing in the garden. He is six. Should I really consider letting him. I'm not squatting out there!

Both my boys were indoctrinated quite young into the male's world of peeing outside with ease. They still do it.

Ever see "The Fastest Indian", with Anthony Hopkins? True story, and part of the story incorporated his ritual of peeing on his lemon tree every morning. Lots of people do that, yeah? I mentioned it on another forum I use, and some old southerner who was brought up a farmer said, "I thought EVERYONE knew about that. Problem is you never make enough for all your crops." Well, yeah, Bob, if you have ACREAGE!

That sounds like a lot of work for letting mother nature do all the work. :/
though Cannabis is truly a "weed",and it will grow on it's own. It's best result are from a lot of love and care. Just dropping your seeds in soil and letting mother Nature take her course is a risk. A risk I won't personally take at all, and if you're gonna be lazy about it. May I suggest you just go to a medical marijuana co-op, and get your meds there. By just throwing seeds in the ground and walking, you run the risk of having your total crop turn to males, and even worse the possibility that you may make your neighbor's plants go to seed too! Personally I think it's not very responsible doing this way of growing. But again that just my opinion.

As for plant food. It may very upon location of my patches. But without a doubt NO 'Miracle Grow',....ever!!! I've been using FoxFarms ferts almost exclusively.
The lone exception being what I call my "Super" or "Magic" water. I get results from this stuff that blows my mind! Sick plants, put magic water, ....no more sickness! This super water was developed in Japan. It is used in Japan for plants(Orchids mostly) & humans. The product name is "Pairogen'. If you are feeling low, this stuff will pick you up too. It's totally incredible what it can do for growth of plants & sick plants, cuttings, etc.,etc.. I swear by the shit! Plus it helps control "Leaf Hoppers" too!

Urine is a fantastic source of nitrogen and it's estimated that we all produce enough urine to fertilize all the wheat and corn that we as individuals consume. And urine is sterile and safe unless you've got a bladder infection.

Urine should be diluted before applying directly to plants since salts in your pee can build up in the soil. Dilution should be at least 10 parts water to one part urine. Peeing directly on plants can burn them as anyone who owns a dog already knows about. Urine is easiest to apply to non-food crops, though it's perfectly safe to use on fruit trees and bushes. Applying it to root crops is more controversial, and frankly seems like a practice best left to hippies, so if you try this at least cease application at a respectable interval before harvesting.

after all aint all your organic ferts some sort of animal byproduct

Ummmm. If I have to all that... I'm not in that big a hurry to mess around mixing pee with water and stuff.

It's not so bad, really. Plus, it's there RIGHT when you need it, an important factor for someone like myself who has to plan trips into town (and even when we get there, we've only got what we've got and often it's not).
