Is Fungus Among Us

I recently had to do reconstruct my drain system in my flower room, due to insufficient drainage.
My hole air system circulates air thru my Veg. room and my flower room so I turned it off for three days,While working on my new and improved drain system.
When i went to go check on my (READY TO FLOWER PLANTS!!!!) I found this in the soil...........
What the F#*% is this???

Start progression of soil some soil mold. How deep does it go? If you can, try to take it off the top and dispose of it. You need to get some new soil in it`s place and water with 1ml/gallon of some 3% hydrogen peroxide to water. Should kill off anything that would spread iof you remove the top-bourne stuff. Good luck

The stuff is just on the top layer I am going to scrape the top layer and try the H.peroxide.
Got my fingers crossed.

Truth! Any humidity above 70% is typically a danger zone for breeding of fungus, mold, etc. You should be just fine if you`ve only got the top of the soil infected. Get a dedicated fan even for the pots (at pot level) if you`re really worried about your area around the medium. Best of luck mate, pm me if you feel the need

I wouldnt worry about that fungus if it were on my soil. Clearly the fungus is interested in your soil, not your plant. It's a good sign your soil is alive. If the appearance bothers you, just til it in to the surface a little.

A LOT more heat ... Certainly equals less yeild


**EDIT - Your 400w could easily illuminate a 4x4 canopy space, no density issues. If anything you run just a 600w HPS instead. I`d personally stay away from Halogen **

Shouldd be no worries dude, all in the training. I`ll be posting a tidbit of building individual PVC ScrOG nets for each plant as each one of my three Cataracts will be done that way, optimizes canopy. Check my sig for more, hope you journal the BR`s, I`ll sit-in on that

In the beginning of my grow I had the same with 1 pot, it was quite moist en light got to it easily.
I was told that combination creates a sensitive enviroment susceptable for that white hairy fluf mold.
And that as long as they were small patches it wouldnt be an issue really, but that I should prevent it from covering the entire top due to asfyxiation.

As tip I got to slightly remove the worst, and top the soil with hydroton .



Then light will not reach the soil anymore thus decreasing the chances of it forming.

I applied it and havent seen any since.

It is called Mycelium. The fruiting bodies of a fungal spore. Usually when the conditions are right for its development ( higher humidity and warm temps) it can appear but is typically short-lived and harmless. Ignore it.
