Hello all, newbie here.
Anyways this is the problem: i planted my ripper seed in a 3 gallon bucket of FFOF potting soil with nothing else added. The problem im having is that in the past 2 days she hasn't been growing at all and she seems to have a redish stem. I have been keeping her under a 125 watt 6500k cfl light with 20 on, and 4 off. Today im gonna try and put her under the so. cal sun for the daytime, then take her in and put her back under my light when the sun goes down. She has been this height for 2 days and im getting concerned... What's wrong with her?? Im watering her when the soil is basically almost dry 2 inches down (which is about once every 2 days) im using tap water that I leave outside for 24 hours. Are her leaves curling down, or is it just me? Any ideas??

They establish a healthy root system before the growth spurt starts.
Keep her healthy and you will see.

dont expect much growth in the first 2 weeks when growing from seed, especially when using a 3 gallon part from the start. the palnt will grow its root system first and then start vegatative growth, the bigger the pot the longer this takes. My white widows in 3gallon pots didnt grow very much at all for the first 3 weeks, then they started growing like crazy.
I wouldnt water as often either, 3g pots can hold a good amount of water for a seedling, id say every 4 days at the most, and then water until you the pot is soaked and you have runoff. cannabis likes to get soaked and then dry out to nearly bone dry before beign watered again.

thanks everyone!i think your all right, i didnt think about the roots having to grow to the potsize and such. on that note, do you think its a good idea to keep her in the socal sun in the daytime(75 here this time of year), then put her under my 125 watt 6500k cfl light at night?? i feel as if the light i have wont get her through veg, or will it if i give it time? also, whenever its time to put her in flower, is it a better idea to put her in the sunlight only for 12/12, or to put her under 6 hours of cfl and 6 of sunlight? you guys know what i mean??? OR should i just buy a light for flowering??

well, last time i watered her was 2 days ago with a little less than a cup of water. is that enough for an early seedling, or should i be adding more water when its time to water her? how much should i give her every watering roughly?

water until the soil is completly wet and youve gotten a fair amount of runoff.
I water my 3 gallon pots with about 2 liters of water every 4 days or so. when they were seedlings i watered with 2 liters once a week. the important thing is that its made complelty wet and then given enough time to dry out. if the roots are constantly kept moist they will develop root rot or mold. it is always better to underwater then it is to overwater as its much easier to fix. seedlings dont need much water, and since ur using 3gallon pots and only watering small amounts checking the first 2 inches of the pot will be misleading as the water your giving it is sinking right to the bottom of the pot and the top of the soil is remainign dry.
So in short, infrequent heavy waterings are best

edit, also i take my plants right to the bathtub so i dont have to worry about soaking my floor with runoff, i can just water and water till i feel the pots are completly soaked

Seedling looks normal and healthy. It should be much bigger next week.

I've been taking a few pics of a seedling and new strain i'm gonna switch to. Growth rate is acceptable.

This is the first two weeks:

alright so about 2 liters(8 1/2) once a week for now. Got it. What about my lighting situation?? Whats best you think? Should i put it outside for the day, then under my cfl at night? Or should i just keep it under my cfl entirely??
