Oh Well Get Over It...i Always Tyope In Caps Because When I Work Everything Is In Caps...only People That Take It As Yelling Are People That Are Insensitive...just Another Way Of Typing For Me...lower Case Is Too Small...get Over It Buddy...smoke A Bowl...anyway it was caps in 2 post...get over urself stranger...

i could be wrong but surly it is easier to build a diy carbon filter with active carbon and over filters, would be more suitable for smaller grows too
I'm sure if you wanted to you could replace the ONA with carbon. Just build a mesh tray for the carbon to be on and have something to keep it from being sucked into the fan.

I still haven't been able to find ONA, and Febreeze (extra strength) didn't last long for me (a few days). Yesterday I removed the ingredients from inside the bucket and replaced it with a jug of Natural Magic's Brushed Linen odor neutralizing gel from Lowe's. So far it is working excellent. Also, the number of holes I originally drilled in my 5 gal. bucket were not enough. After completing your project, I suggest listening to the sound of the fan and feeling the air pressure coming from it while connected. Then, remove it as it is running and determine whether the fan speeded up, and if there is more air pressure coming from the fan. If so, more holes are needed in the bucket for intake. Otherwise the fan motor is straining.

np on the link. you could prouble get a free 5 gal bucket fron mickey d's hardes or bugar king just ask them for an empty pickel bucket. or go dumpster diving in there trash for one. i got my bucket free from hardes. no diving. gl on the build.

I think the DIY carbon filter would be superior to this without much more finatial outlay, I just like the dry ingredients, ease of refilling, the carbon eliminates odors for months.
I certainly cannot say Iv tryed this particular method but for 30 bucks my carbon scrubber eliminates the odors of 6 5ft plants for months now. Plus you get totally stoked when you build a carbon (haha) copy of a filter that HTG sells for 250.00.

I have yet to see a DIY carbon filter even come close to being able to replicate a manufactured one.
Packing carbon yourself just doesnt work that well.
This machine is invaluable as a mean of utilizing Ona Gel, thats it point.
Also HTGSUPPLY doesnt have a $250 Filter??? So I dont know where you got that.
The biggest one they sell is the Can 66 ($193.00), and to be honest I highly, highly doubt you have created a DIY carbon filter with pre filter that even comes close!!!
Plus For $99.95 You can get the Goblin Filter, or for a little more either the Can 33, can38 special 33, or can 38 special 50.
All of which have a amount of carbon in them, that if you research how much pelletized air odor carbon is, generally cost THE SAME as base carbon DOES!!!

They dont perform like they should, and many times thier costs are equal to IF NOT MORE than a store bought equivilent...
In addition dont get a carbon filter refilled, dispose of and re-purchase, refilling yourself a store bought brand yeilds same results as a DIY version.

i have tried using this alone several ways. none have worked longer than a few days. i have used ona liquid, febreeze extra strength, and odor blocks. the liquids evaporate very quick, and aren't as powerful as i have heard. i read a suggestion recently that i may try. instead of mixing water use a full strength solution of ona. if i have any problems with my DIY scrubber, i will try it.

simply not true! i built mine (without the rocks and pantyhose) using the prefilter roll, and it is working fine. 25 plants, five feet tall, and no smell.
