Twisting Yellowed Cotyledon?

This plant is 8 days old.
No nutrients yet.
Regular tap water that has been sitting for at least 48 hours.
Generic organic soil, no known nutrients.
4 100w replacement CFLS 23w each

Currently 2 inches tall.

So the problem was noticed yesterday when I saw the cotyledons were twisting and I thought it was probably not a major issue.
Then today I checked on her to see if it had gotten any better and I noticed the far half of one of the twisted cotyledons had yellowed pretty badly.

Is this a nitrogen deficiency or some sort of pH problem?
Please let me know what you think. Thank you!

In the pictures it is kind of difficult to see but is twisted almost 90 degrees and half of it is completely yellow.

My other plant is in the same grow area and under the same conditions but is perfectly normal.

I'm really starting to think it's Nitrogen deficiency... I watered just now with some 1/2 strength 10-10-10. Needed a watering anyway

Your seed leaves dont matter in the least. They used up their nutes now its time to slowly start feeding.

The cotyledons (seed leaves) were actually the seed itself, like two halves of a bean. Their purpose is to store enough food (energy) to get the plant out of the ground to where it can photosynthesize and make it's own food. They are just little feed bags, and they get used up and shrivel away.

That's pretty cool I didn't know that haha. Thanks for the information I was worried for a little bit

yeah if they are already used up you can probably start adding some light nutes to your waterings every other time or every 3rd time. my seed leaves are just starting to die now at 25 days old. ocean forest seemed to keep them going for a while :)

your soil may be light on nutrients so they probably used up their seed leafs already. you can keep an eye on them to see if the next leaves start yellowing or start them on a nutrient schedule i would think.

If you are going to start nutes (I wouldn't) you might just wana start at around 1/4 strength, just to get it used to the idea of being fed, otherwise you may stunt it or kill it...good luck
