Really.... Was the Constitution changed while I was working in my garden? Last time I checked the prez had no control over the country's purse strings.
Yeah that's pretty obvious, when was the last time the US had a budget?

Obama is such an ineffectual leader I wouldn't let him run a Boy Scout unit.

Where in our constitution does it demand that we have one?
why should the costitution have to DEMAND something of us for it to just be a good idea? (gee dad, you didnt demand that i not get drunk and wreck your car last night so i thought it would be ok to do it. does that help any?). i think its just common sense and good business practice. what RESPONSIBLE party (wether it be corporate, private, personal or....yes....national) doesnt have one? again, its just good business imo.

we always have a budget, they're called continued spending resolutions.

in case you haven't noticed, our deficit is soon to be cut in half from what the bad oil man from texas left us.

You mean you're gonna fix the problem you perceive he created...by continuing his spending resolutions?

Thats pure fucking genius right there!

When Obama became president, on Janaury 20, 2009, the debt was $10,626,877,048,913.08. The total outstanding public debt is now, according to the federal government, $16,798,051,589,934.68.

Since Obama became president, debt has increased by more than $6 trillion.

He is not reducing the total debt, when he talks about reducing the deficit he is means the yearly deficit.

no, spending resolutions get amended, cuts are made, other legislation is passed, revenues are increased, etc.

ya see, shrub had an upward vector, the deficit kept going up and up. obama has the opposite vector, under him the deficit keeps going down and down.

kinda hard to reduce the total debt when you guys handed off a $1.5 trillion annual structural deficit and an economy in absolute tatters.

feel free to check the archives here, which date back to 2006, and show me where you republicans were screaming about the spending back then.

pro tip: you won't find any because you righties are transparent hypocrites who specialize in failure and faux outrage.

But the debt keeps going up and up. In my opinion you're being mesmerized by the wrong trend. The debt trend must be reversed. cn

of course the debt goes up, we're chipping away at a $1.5 trillion annual structural deficit left over by the "fiscally conservative" party.

and technically, when something goes up slower and slower, that does have an effect on the vector arrow.

one thing worth pointing out is that if obama inherited clinton's work, we would indeed be seeing the debt itself being erased.

both of these lines go upwards, only one has an upward trend.

ignore the axes, the shape of the lines is what is important.

1.5 trillion the first year.

then $1 trillion plus the next FOUR years... While half his first term had a democratic congress...

Then said yes well bail out wall street, after they gave a shitload to O' and even threw him a NYE party...

Is your Filipino wife doing these numbers for you?

Staying with just the first derivative, it is 1) positive and 2) positive. The difference will be in the second derivative (Airplane voice) but that's not important right now. cn
