Best Hydro Nutes?

There again personally I have a base line number I use when testing additives. The baseline was from the standard 3 part without anything else over a 12 mnth period, then averaged out.

Overdrive has increased my yeild but cost outways the gain, big bud and blood blood both work also and I alternate using them.

Additives can be usefull but I believe if you want bigger yeilds then learn to veg longer and get that root ball huge.

  • Why and how are you alternating Bud Blood and Big Bud. Just curious because I think you will find that running the additives the way AN explains has always worked the best for me. I think people (not saying you, but maybe) make things more difficult for themselves. Or think that additives don't work, but they don't use them the way they should be used. As long as everything else is in check, like environment and like you said.. strong veg and healthy root ball, AN additives always yield far more than you would pay for them. The one thing I do change is application rate. I don't always or practically ever run nutrients at full strength.

Bud Blood or Bud Igniter (Weeks 1-2 of Flower) I recently started adding this last week of veg and flower sites popped 2-3 days earlier.
    Big Bud (Weeks 2-4)
    Over Drive (weeks 5-6)
    Flush

I like Bud Candy as well and run it all the way through Flower and intermittently through veg.

If you have strains that run longer than 8 weeks, extend your Big Bud an extra week. Another thing that I feel is important is to keep the 2:1 ration with base to additives. All AN bases are 16ml per Gal and Additives are 8ml per Gal. So if you are running at half strength base then run half strength additives. I know its easy to want to go full blast with Bloom Boosters, but its throws off the ratios. As much as folks want to have their own special recipes, I am confident that most folks would achieve the greatest results keeping it simple and not deviating too much from what the line recommends. Not just AN, but any line.

Also, a lot of folks will say, Oh.. H&G or AN sucks its a waist of money… then only to find out they ran half of the line or did not run it as directed...

Again definitely not directing any of that at you, your post just spurred this thought. Thanks:smile:

Alternating in the term, one crop after another. I don't always follow the rules or instructions...but I am also past blaming the product and understand what they are intended for. Understanding the science will allow you to customize your needs but your right if your just pouring product than its best to follow the directions and use the product only for its intended purposes.

Amazing that no one mentioned Hydroponic-Research VEG+BLOOM. It's a dry one step formula

Here it is in my Spray and Drain HOT5 tent. Also running it in my Bubbleponics LED Tent

My experience with additives has shown that they do little to improve yield, taste, or much of anything. Just check your nutrients to make sure that you have a complete package. NPK in a good balance and your micro nutrients. That is what your plants want.

Hi, I have a 6-gal reservoir with 3 plants set-up in rockwool/hydroton/netpots. I been using Stealth Hyrdo's Grow Micro for Veg and instead of continuing with the same flower nutes, I was thinking of switching to FoxFarm Trio (Flower/Bloom) or AdanceNuturient line (flower/Bloom). Anyone have suggestions? Also i'd be grateful if anyone can share their experiences with additives such as (Molasses, BigBud, Bloombastic and etc) or point me in the direction of some threads explaining about it.

On a budget but I would like to do the most I can to make sure they are growing healthy and stronger. Also boost potency and yield.

What about additives? Do you guys use anything else besides the basic micro and grow/flower. I have been reading many people say bloombastic is great for flowering in addition to the base micro and bloom nutes. What do you guys think? Is it worth the investment?
I've never used it, but I doubt it.

Yeah check out flora nova grow/bloom. Its a 1- part nute, highly concentrated which is key for larger reservoirs {if you want to save $$..} also doesnt leave any insoluble organic matter like fox farms does{they can clog emitters}

So you've used both and prefer the flora nova over the Fox Farm? I kind of had the same question as the OP. Been running Fox Farm (Grow Big/Tiger Bloom) forever and wondered if there was anything else out there that would produce better results. Use a typical Ebb n Flow system with decent sized reservoir.

Agree completely. Exotic supplements are not necessary.

Rockwool slabs, WaterFarm, Ebb&Flo buckets, drip/waste Coco; I use GH Flora series (G-M-B) as wel as the Liquid and powder KoolBloom. Simple and cheap.
I do use Advanced PH up&down, that stuff is super concentrated and cheap.
Really, you can't go wrong using any of the known brands. They all have their unique way of working, it's up to you to figure out how that is. Say you start using Heavy16 and get it to produce stellar MJ for you, naturally you're going to recommend Heavy16. Most major brands have been suggested in this thread, shows you that they all do the job:bigjoint:

Im currently running the lucas formla with GH maxibloom and silica blast and my two plants seem to love it.although i was wondering if I should also use something like GH floralicious or AN nirvana as Ive read that the maxibloom alone doesn't contain all the goodies my girls want. advice is much appreciated:confused::confused::confused:

It is ALL salts. Go to mbferts.com or Jrpeters.com and look at their Hydro/Calnit combo 15$ shipped! Or be a cheap ass like me and email every fucking bullshit ripoff nute company out there asking for free samples (Most will send completely free, some ask for shipping) and find one you are willing to be raped for! Just my .02-S0uP
