Rally in Opposition to the Supreme Court Decision on Medical Marijuana
On April 9th, Patients, Caregivers and their supporters will gather on the steps of the capitol to inform The People of recent acts of treachery by the government that are placing the sick in harms way, discounting the people's vote, and denying access to the medicine the people approved. Please join us on the front steps of the capitol on April 9th in Lansing, Michigan at high noon (live music starts at 10:30) to express our dissatisfaction with Bill Schuette and other corrupt officials. If we are at a point in history where government can choose what laws it obeys then we as a people are in grave danger.
Of great concern to our community is the aggression that has been deployed against us. We are not safe in our homes as many of us have had our homes invaded. We are being arrested and once charged are not even able to raise the Michigan Medical marijuana Act as a defense. If you listen to Bill Schuette and his minions he would have you believe that people with cancer, MS, AIDS, MDA and other terrible diseases are just hiding behind the law to avoid prosecution. The sad thing is the people intended that the government not prosecute us. Our government is too soddish to even read the memo much less understand it's significance.
We ask the People of Michigan to join us and help us protect ourselves from these government bullies.

I was there today for this sorry excuse for a rally. Less than 100 people showed up and the organizer didn't seem to know wtf he was talking about. Par for the course here in Michigan where the highly factionalized marijuana policy reform movement looks like a circular firing squad. I can't even visit michigan medical marijuana chat rooms for growing advice without getting banned for mere suspicion of being a plant from a rival reform group. WE'RE ALL ON THE SAME FUCKING SIDE PEOPLE! Get over your paranoia, stop the damned infighting and fight against a real enemy for a change! Attorney General Bill Schuette, the Michigan Supreme Court, and the Michigan Legislature are the people we need to fight against, not each other.

No, you've got me confused with someone else. I'm just a patient who wants nothing more than to use the internet to get advice and info regarding cultivation within constraints of Michigan law for myself and my household. My significant other is a victim of the drug war, having been shot in the head by her drug dealer ex-boyfriend for knowing too much about his illegal activities. She suffers from persistent spasticity and partial paralysis due to her brain injury. I suffer from migraines and back pain due to multiple injuries over the years which were never properly treated, most of which were caused by vehicle collisions that were not my fault.
I was very active in marijuana policy reform prior to 2001, but the infighting and lack of trust among the activist community got to be a little too much to deal with in post-9/11 America, so I decided to hang up my activist hat for a while. Now that I'm a former activist and a current patient who wants to grow his own medicine, I get zero respect for my time in the trenches 7 years before the MMMA became law. Because certain website administrators at michiganmedicalmarijuana.org and michiganmedicalmarijuanagrowers.net are engaged in some bullshit rivalry over god knows what, I've inadvertently gotten myself banned from the latter website just because I happen to visit both sites. I have nothing to do with either organization, yet the admin of one accuses me of being a shill for the other, when both organizations are working toward the same goal. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

No, I was banned from michiganmedicalmarijuanagrowers.net by someone going by the screen name "pepper" who said he saw chat logs from michiganmedicalmarijuana.org and very vaguely implied that I was "causing tension" with nothing to back up his accusation. Now my login doesn't even work any more because after he gave me his lame excuse for banning me, I got a bit angry and told "pepper" to go fuck himself after giving him a little background info that I've already mentioned in this thread. I have no use for so-called activists who sit at their computers and think they're god's gift to the movement because they have a chat room where they can preach to the choir and they can kick out anyone who doesn't sing their tune.

I think that you may be referring to awhile-back because I believe that pepper is no longer a mod at the site you mention. good folks there, after some management upheaval. I later learned that pepper had been going through rather serious personal family health struggles (hope his young boy is OK), which often explains a short fuse.

I think you're confused. "pepper" is a current admin at michiganmedicalmarijuanagrowers.net who is responsible for revoking my access from said website without a satisfactory explanation. I am not banned from michiganmedicalmarijuana.org and have no issue with anyone there. I really don't give a rat's ass about having access to a specific website because the info I'm interested in is available in a myriad of places I can access without restriction. I'm just disgusted at this kind of behavior displayed by such wannabe activists who have nothing better to do than point fingers at other activists and spread discord among the activist community instead of focusing on the real issues. It's because of bullshit like this that I quit being an activist, and it saddens me deeply to know that it's still going on after all these years.

Pepper has been through (and is still going through) some tough times. I can't speak to what happened but I'll ask next time I chat with him. Pepper is admin @ 3MG.
Segmented is spot on Abe.
Everyone seems pretty mellow and friendly there now...which is why I spend my time there. Read a lot everywhere else.
