So i have started marijuana growing in a grow box in my closet and i got 2 little seedlings and i have been using the light 24 hours a day. But now one of the plants are developing its third pair of leaves and the other plant haven't even started on developing its first pair of "real leaves".And it have been stuck there a pretty long time :(
Why is it not developing? Should i start the 18/6 light cycle or should i continue with 24-7 light? Plejz help<3

This is way too broad of a question you need to give us more info. Pictures, soil, nutes, age, height, water schedule, type of lights, temperature, fresh air, kind of water, ph etc...

Are they bag seeds? Are they the same strain? Do you know for certain or are you guessing? There are a million and two variables to determine growth rates, and especially at that age; they are a very rapidly growing plant. 1-2 days is short in their overall life span but can be the difference between 2-3 leaf sets, easily.

Do you know anywhere that plants are exposed to 24 hr. direct sunlight? I don't. I can't figure where they get 24 hour light is the best. Plants need rest too, they can't run on adrenaline or meth. 18/6 has been shown to be about the best especially if you're growing non-fem seeds. Higher number of females, fewer hermies.

Shut the hell up. Plants do NOT NEED REST. Pot is a C3 plant. Look it up smart guy.

Yep, MJ is a C3 plant, which means, as long as the lights are on, it will photosythesize and grow...BUT..when you turn light out for a couple hours it does help develop stronger roots and new shoots, not too mention when I put my girls in dark for 24 hours before harvest, the buds seem to explode with growth...so blowincherrypie, while you are right to an extent, we are here to help one another, not play king of the sandbox, so chill smoke and be happy, cuz it's always a preference for lighting schedules...I use 24/0 for first 4 weeks, then switch to 18/6 for another 4 weeks of veg, then of course 12/12 for flower...but it's still just preference...and Budsworth.. The answer to your question is mother nature, unless you live in antartica you will have dark at night time for at least 6 hours in summer...

Flushing Vs No Flushing
Defoliate vs no leaf pull
24/0 vs 18/6
We will never all agree...

I agree with everything you said except that. Little known fact is that Barrow Alaska sees I think 80 days of continuous sun. Opposite effect in the winter. They don't get any sunlight for well over a month. That stupid horror movie 30 days of night was set in Barrow AK.

Plants also don't grow hydroponically in nature but we make it work. You're as lost as the op.

They don't grow in aeroponics either, or under warehouse light bulbs. or get perfect 18 hours of light and 6 hours of dark to veg and exactly 12 hours of light and 12 of dark to flower... Some people on this forum.

BULLSHIT answer sorry, do you know a place where plants grow in hydro naturally, NO, but its done, and better than mother nature by far, so 24 hours may be better for a lot of strains, ive done both an 24 veg works better, faster less veg time to get the same result, OH YEAH and ALASKA has 24 periods of light, please lets not talk out of our asses now when were tyin to help someone!!!!!!!
