5 weeks old some input please

Hey guys so here is my blue hash at 5 weeks old. Some parts look amazing and other parts not so much. I have 4 CFL 23 watt daylight and 1 CFL 42 watt 2700K so I think I have enough lighting to grow just here. I am using Miracle grow organic choice with a NPK of .1-.05-.1. Some of the leaves are showing some brown spots on them concerned about that as well as the tips of some leaves being yellowish brown. Do I need more nuts I have these miracle grow spikes with an NPK of 6-12-6 along with other nutrients that are essential for growing. Im pretty worried about her since I will be flowering soonish and want this to be successful. Any input would be greatly appreciated just not sure what the problem is and what I should do to fix it.

I dont know where to begin (sorry) but well fist of, miracle grow is not the best choice for MJ and spikes is slow releasing so get some liquid for MJ or atleast for tomato`s (high in N for veg and P for flowering)

Im also concernd about over watering in that soil and I also believe it could use some Ca/Mg

also is that potatoes ?

Looks like you may be having ph issues. Almost all your leaves are twisting. What is the ph of the water you put in?

Ya I later learned that the miracle grow soil isnt the best but she had already been in there for a few weeks by then. So Could I convert the spikes into liquid by just putting them in water and using that you think? I have recently cut back on the watering just about once every week. Yea those are potatoes for some fungus gnats I have been dealing with I also have a thing of soapy water that has been catching them too.

Try no food just water and just keep it moist. I would suggest a flush if its not to wet and has good drainage.

Does your miracle grow come with nutrients in it? Find that out first.

Ditch the fertilizer spikes.

First thing to test is your ph and make sure it is between 6.0 and 6.5. Bottled water is expensive to use and you might not need it. At around 5 weeks in soil the plants can have a Cal/Mag defiency, so if you are not using any now is the time to start. It won't hurt. Peace

You definitely do not need nutrients. MG is actually pretty good for vegging, just not so good for flowering. Do you have plenty of drainage? You don't want any water holding in the bottom. As others have said, you should check the PH of your water before watering, then check the ph of the runoff. You have several things happening which is usually an indicator of PH issues.

Tips being abit discolored is a sign of nutrients overdose. I personally give it nutrients until my tips turn color and then back up just a little.

Ya its NPK is .1-.05-.1 thats why I've been nervous about it too as well with the flushing I don't think it would do any good because of the fertilizer in my soil already. When I keep it moist fungus gnats tend to come in and a pain

you think I should just get some Ph strips at the store? And also should I go get Ca/Mag in case of the deficiency?

Don't water more than necessary. Hang some yellow sticky strips in your grow room. It will catch alot of gnats.

Look into using 3% hydrogen peroxide to kill the gnat eggs and larvae.

Your plant looks ok for a first timer. Looks like she may be wanting some nitrogen.

Do you live near a walmart or better yet a homedepot?

For low maintanence I would go with epsoma garden tone. It is a complete fertilizer. You would just have to make sure not to over water.

How big of a pot is that plant in?

Ya right near one in fact. What about picture 3 with those brown spots any concern with that? so what nutes do you suggest?

Ok. Here is what you do.

Go to walmart/homedepot and buy this. http://www.espoma.com/p_consumer/pdf/products/tones/Esp_Garden.pdf

You will notice it contains a nice even NPK and cal/mag.

Generally you want to mix it into the soil when you transplant. But you can just put a 1 cup around the top for now and give her a good watering.

If you can, try to mix it into the soil on the edges of the pot a bit.

That is what I would do.

Next grow when you transplant to a five gallon (after the plant is 2-3 weeks old) mix in 1 and 2/3 cup of epsoma into the soil you will be transplanting into. Oh, and use promix or a garden soil ammended with perlite and lime.

I personally like promix. It comes amended with perlite and lime already. It is also nute free.

Hey thanks I really appreciate the help so by mixing this fertilizer my problems should subside? Should I continue with the same fert through flowering?
