Getting ready for the class of 2013

I've been growing in the same spot for 6 seasons, I'm totally a guerilla grower,that is I scatter my generic/schwag seeds and care for them til they sex, then destroy the males,I have good years and great years. I have a few ?'s first should I treat me soil prior to planting? Secondly can a layman like me sex M/F seeds or very young plants.I an in Pa. where the frost should be over soon . I hope to be in the ground by last week of April or early May.The photo I am posting is from last year I had four males (gone) and the rest you can see. After the ladies are flowering for a while I do whack the sun leaves off.Just personal preference on that. TIA and happy growing to all!!

If grown out doors do not cut fan leaves they will turn yellow when not needed. I hate to even top mine out side unless it is for stealth.

How you amend soil is completely dependent upon your location:

http://soils.usda.gov/technical/classification/orders/mollisols_map.html

If you're in white, you'll need to add compost...preferably aged. Areas in green and yellow have a good 4-5 inches of humus(aged compost)already present, in fact those areas have some of best soil on the planet.

Almost forgot, amending must be done when soil is fairly dry.

Why not just take a clone from each plant and put it under a CFL for 12 hours a day ?
