Odor

Is it normal for it to smell outside the tent even with the fan/carbon filter on full blast? I'm asking because my garage is smelling a lot like weed and that is where the tent is. I'm on 7th week of flowering.

They don't filter 100% of the smell. I don't think I've ever seen a filter that has been said to filter 100% of odors. If it's really bad you should look into ONA Gel.

You know what good question. I got it from a buddy of mine that only used it for a grow. I got it for free.. How often do they need replacing?
Let's back up...how is your system configured? For instance, my set up is carbon filter --> duct --> fan --> exhaust to outside.

My 4"x12" carbon filter is going on 13 months, I'm sure it will be ready to be replaced soon. That is 13 months of flowering, with 3-4 plants at a time. I have poked a hole (which is covered with duct tape) in the duct after the fan that I sniff from time to time to see if odor is escaping.

Best said right here . The area where you hang the girls to dry will also smell as they dry. ONA is a major help to mask odors. Punch holes in the lid and let it breath .

Another thing you can do, if no one hangs out in your garage for long periods of time, is buy a small O3 generator. I have this one, it works great for killing localized odors. I plug it in when I pull all of my plants out to inspect and water and I can't smell the plants beyond the room they are in.

Sounds like the carbon filter is failing or you have a leak between the fan and carbon filter. I just replaced mine after 2 and ahalf years. It takes all the smell away unless you open the tent. I use a phresh filter the fan has to match the cfm of the filter to or it will not work proper

Might be failing then because I can smell it even when the tent is closed.. Buying Ona gel tomorrow because unforeseen circumstances I'm chopping right now as we speak at 50 days flowering so ill see how it goes.. Ill post pics soon
