Not at all. What would make you think so?
You kinda sound like one of those anti social types, lacking in confidence, who wants people to be scared of your dog's.
That's all.

Actually he is right. Pits werent bred to be guard dogs, they were bred to fight and be very human friendly so they could be handled by numerous strangers during fights. They have changed since then, they are basically ruined at this point. A good breed gone terribly wrong.
Ive got a little Pomeraniun...Its not gonna bite someones hand off but its little bitch yap bark will get my ass outta bed, pronto![]()
You couldnt be more wrong. I was just saying that mine are very protective of my house and my family. Whether they were bred to be that way or not. The main point i was making is that with proper training any dog will be a good guard dog and protecter. You kinda sound like one of those anti social types, lacking in confidence, who wants people to be scared of your dog's.

Why restrict yourself to a dog? What about an alligator?

hey guys not sure where to post this so figured i throw it in here.. wondering what kind of dogs you guys reccommend? ive grown up with labs and pointers but now that i have my gardens im looking for a dog that is loyal to his home that doesnt shed like crazy..( i know all do)
heres what im looking at so far any imput on these dogs would be great!
American pitbull terrior
American Staffordshire Terrier
pitbull
american bulldog
was trying to advoid pitbulls as i know they are banned alot of places so wasnt sure if the other dogs i listed are under the same classification?
Wrong. A good pit will protect their family to the death. I have three and some company wont come any closer to my house han the front sidewalk. I do agree tho that rotts and dobermans will also be excellent guard dogs.
The German Shepard is the best guard dog we've had so far, other dog was a Sheep Herder and she did a pretty good job but was smaller.
A German Shepard is born raised and bred to guard, it doesnt even like to do anything else then just lay on the porch or next to its boss just guarding..
I wouldnt recommend any other dog since i dont know anything about their characteristics, German Shepards are really intelligent they learn very fast and arent really dominant unless you are one of those idiots on dog whisperer
I know its not on your doggy list but if you want a dog that loves you more then it loves itself, Would be able to kill a man in seconds AND does funny stuff when doing nothing you should really get a German Shepard.
Peace
