Hello all thanks for reading, this is my first time growing weed.

I have 4 plants growing, i plan to give others away but i am wanting to keep one for my self, I have a cubord 2 feet wide and 5 feet tall i plan to grow it in there. Im just wondering what lighting i would need for the 1 plant and other things i will need.
I'm on a budget, i dont care for the best of bud i just want to actually grow it from start to finish and smoke it. i just want the basic things i will need to get my 1 plant growing and hopefully more in the future.
also, when do i put them under lights, what temperature do i keep them at, how many hours per day ect.
Anything to add to the compost im using, to improve the growth
All i want to know is the basics in maintaining my plant and the basics to turn my cubord into a grow area for my plant.
Links to site were i can buy the stuff needed would be great.

Some cfls , soil, your gunna need nutrients find a cheap 3 part solution thats bout one the cheapest ways
Hello thanks for the reply, How many cfl's would i need, and i bought a few of these but the max they hold is 70 watt if i put a bigger bulb in it either blows bulb or breaks the component :s

For vegging you could start with like 5 or 6 cfls gotta make sure its 6500k cool blue. Get adapters at home depot the light goes in to the socket then ur able to plug it in to a power strip.. id get 6 bulbs 3 sockets and 3 y spliters .. for soil id go with miracle grow organic soil 4$..and nutes is also at home depot so you could get everything at homedepot . Hope this helps and makes sence ... stoneddd :D

You could go T5HO florescents say a small 2ft 2 bulb, they come with 6500K bulbs for veg, then purchase 2 3000K bulbs for flowering, I find it more efficient than cfl's and only run abt 44 watts, total cost abt $100 maybe less if you shop around, you could grow up to 3 plants with that and have good success, as for schedule I run 20 on and 4 off for veg then 12 on, 12 off for flowering, temp should be in the range of 75 deg, I'm not a soil man so can't help you there with nutes, have some small fans constantly on for circulation, I place them under lights as soon as they sprout, even before so sprouts will see light as soon as popped

Lol

1. (6) 100w equivalent cfls has to be cool blue 5500k-6500k
2. (3) Sockets that can plug in to a power strip
3. (3) y socket spliters were you can add two bulbs in one
4. Miracle grow organic soil orange bag but you could get miracle grow moisture control what I used and it worked great and you wouldnt need to buy nutes for a little while just dont over water!

If you go with cfls keep the lights close like 3 or 4 inches away! Your gonna deff need a intake and exhaust fan if you wanna keep temps down

I veg for 24 hours and you could get a timer at walmart for like 4 $ for the fan if thats what you meant

Are you saying the cupboard is only 2 feet wide 2 feet deep and 5 high? Hmm you could do a lot with that. If I was to keep it at 5 feet I'd mount 4 40inch fluorescent blubs in each corner, ballast/s mounted outside the space to keep the heat down or mounted on the top if I had too. Or you could do a two tier scrog with cfl bulbs and some cuttings off that plant and basically small cuttings root em veg for a very short time a week maybe then throw them in bud. Vegging hours for your lights are 18 on 6 off or 24 hours on up to you and the temps in your cupboard. Flowering hours are 12 on 12 off (I've read you could do an 18 hour day running 12 on 6 off but I've never tried it plus I think I'd need a PLC to run that cycle lol). Here's a link to a thread if you run into trouble with the plant. https://www.rollitup.org/marijuana-plant-problems/488004-guide-nutrient-deficiency-toxicity.html. I've been giving it to every newbie in hopes it will cut down the it got spot and yellowing questions popping up all the time. And about the temperature, what's it at now inside and outside the cupboard?

I'd recommend T5's if you can afford them over the cfl's; your light footprint will be larger. I use a mixture of ultra sun and ocean sun bulbs from Petco. You wont need to heat unless your temps get below 60 during the dark period, the lights will keep the plants plenty warm when they're on. You will need an exhaust fan to pull warm moist air out of the cabinet and a circulating fan inside the cabinet to move air around. Miracle Grow potting mix is fine when vegging but I don't use it when flowering...it causes too much leaf IMHO

So for the first 3 month normal compost is fine but for the last month i will need to change to soil?
Also how many t5's would i need for 1 plant. And if i put a fan extracting air at the back of the cabinet and a one to circulate the air hanging down from my light is that ok?And first 3 month i do 20 hours on 4 hours of then the last month (Flowering) i do it 12 / 12
