Is Demonic Possession Real or Psychiatric?

So what are your thought of the lady that is possessed by a Jinn? On the youtube reviews some say she's acting that way to avoid an arranged wedding. Would you act this way to avoid marriage?
You are assuming that this woman is possessed. Why? Because she is growling and acting strangely? Several homeless folks in my area act similarly, am I to assume they are also possessed by something supernatural? Why can't they just be crazy? Occam's Razor is a principle of parsimony, economy, or succinctness used in logic and problem-solving. It states that among competing hypotheses, the hypothesis with the fewest assumptions should be selected. It is a powerful tool used to weed out bullshit from reality. So, in the case of your latest YT video three possibilities come to mind: she is mentally ill, she is staging her actions (for what reason, I do not know) or a scary, Islamic demon has come up from the netherworld to take control of this particular woman (for what reason, again, I do not know). Seems to me this last choice makes many more assumptions than the other two choices, therefore, logically, we should not choose this option. The Razor can become a useful tool in your mental arsenal, I recommend making friends with it - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occam's_razor

P.S. At this point in my life, to avoid marriage I would put on a show that would put that bitch to shame...

This topic of Demonic Possession can be overlooked because there is recorded evidence that dates to the first recorded civilization being the Sumerians. They believed that all sickness and mental illnesses were attributed to Demons known as Chichi Morchi Dem. The Egyptians also have papyrus scrolls that contain references to possession. There obviously must something more to it. Don't you think?

No, I don't think there's more to it. Humanity was very ignorant of the way most things worked long ago, and would posit supernatural explanations for anything they didn't understand: A god to pull the sun across the sky (instead of the Earth spinning), a god to produce weather (instead of natural meteorological dynamics), demon possession for physical sickness (instead of germ theory), demon possession for strange actions (instead of mental illness), etc.. Mankind did not have the scientific method or much technology, and were simply trying to explain the phenomena they experienced without the proper tools to do so...
