I'm with Kochab and DrBud. When you take the time to learn about the nature of the plant, the strain of the cultivar, what it wants and what it responds to and THEN take the time to dial it in, 'rootbound' is not an issue.

Roots are a feeding and stabilization media. If you feed your plant right and support it, everything else takes care of itself.

Most people don't have the patience it takes to learn from what the plant WILL tell you. As has been said, the big thing with SOG is to have a solid mother to clone from. Not every strain is suited for SOG or 16oz cups, etc.

That is why you have to dial-in your grow program. It's amazing how stubborn some people are and simply *refuse* to even attempt to learn something that is not already in their understanding.

I've been guilty of this as well from time to time. Ah well, live and learn I suppose.

looks to me you got some good thoughts a brewin in that hear of yours tonado, Knowing what your plant needs and what it can do on its won will go a LONG way

Yeah man. I think people like to run the show and get hung up on 'look what *I* can do' instead of look what this *plant* can do. I guess we want to think we are smarter than a plant but that plant knows what makes it happy and it will tell ya. Just get in reaaaaal close and listen... Breathin' on em helps too. :blsmoke:

when the plants need it. Thats just what we mean, that isnt something we can tell you for your plants, You have to go by the way they look. A plant that isnt being fed enough will grow slowly and will show certian traits that will tell you it is not getting enough of one nutrient or that its locked out (meaning for one reason or another it isnt absorbing that nuterient)

I think any container size over 1 gallon is a waste! I have some 5 gallon pots and there's so much wasted space. The way I figure, the canopy of your leaves should at LEAST cover the same aerial surface area as the area of your container. No soil should be recieving light :)

shot glass plants generally dont make it from seed.... seedlings need nutrients to start growing and chemical nutes are generally too strong on any level for them, but that shot glass soil wont provide many nutes for it to start...
It will be a fun test for you to do though. If nothing else Id like to see how long you can make it live

I agree with you for the most part. Keep an eye out for my outdoor grows, they are in 2-3 gallon holes that are surrounded by clay. Im sure some people believe that they are going to get root bound......
