For a while now China has been trying to figure out what it is that makes America so "Inventive". They have us beat in numbers, discipline, tech, production and just about EVERY other field... But they do NOT have the "ability" to invent. And I think I discovered why... Firstly, the obvious one... China was on lockdown for 100 years, they didn't agree with industrialization and chose not to embrace it, and so they didn't trade with other countries in order to preserve their tradition, so now they are about 100 years behind in terms of inventing, but they are very good at taking a blue print and mass producing it, or adding something to it. Secondly, the other main reason we are more inventive than them. Invention is motivated by poverty (class differentiation) and laziness, and china simply does not allow their people to be lazy and EVERYONE is poor, so really no one is poor. And because they don't have laziness, or 'poverty' (a class to aspire to be, which inspires invention). And, just a side note. Now that I am getting paid for writing, I will be able to make my smoking invention :)

So are you saying your laziness or your impoverished life have driven your inventiveness. I wish there was a slow clap emoticon...

Ancient China invented more than you'll ever dream up.

LOL Finshaggy im not gonna bash you like these other guys. ALTHOUGH, i must admit i do just open your threads now to laugh at all the comments people leave. Its guaranteed entertainment no matter what the thread is about! love it, keep it up guys.

also, as far as your writing career goes, instead of saying "firstly", "secondly", "thirdly", try saying something more along the lines of "first off", "second of all", "and last but not least"... this just coming from a guy that never passed english 101 with better than a C.

When I think of inventions, I think of Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. When I think of Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention, I think of some of the crazy songs I used to trip to and smoke out listening to.

But to the original point, it is said that "Necessity is the mother of invention". If a person needs something (necessity), if they are creative, skilled and motivated, they can invent a solution to meet their need. Of course, if you are UncleBuckwheat, who claims there is no God, yet thinks he is God, you don't need inventions, just an internet connection to satisfy your urge to troll good people and make people's lives as miserable as his own.

This thread has nothing to do with me, and it doesn't matter what China did invent, they are literally trying to figure out how we invent things.

:lol: I don't right the same as I talk on forums. I don't even text like this, I just really don't care about you guys :) I'm usually just laughing at the trolls here.

True, True. There are naturally creative/inventive people. I just meant like social motivations for people that aren't naturally that way :) And completely agreed on the topic of Buck :lol:

:lol: This is the first place I ever started using emoticons, because they actually move and turn into smileys. And I don't type "lol" in regular writing. You guys are seriously just ridiculous, and I have to express my reactions.
