Honey Bees

I think I want to keep some bees. Since they're all dying. Plus fresh honey would be dank. I have a nice little wooded area next to my place that would work good I think. Any beekeepers out there or anybody thinking of trying it?

I know nothing but that they need a large area in which to feed, but don't take my word for it ask Steve

Yea ordered some more gear like that, yea ya need space, this is one of those snowball effect things, I started with a few gifted cherry and peach cuttings from a apple grower friend I hunt with 4 yrs ago , then ended up clearing 1.5 acre las yrs and planting apples. peach , cherry and blueberry, all cuts from him, so now bees , also just did shtaki mushrooms spores in logs. but this all started with Deer plots on my land. Its crazy the things I get into.

Make sure you don't live too close to a farmers field, I believe the GMO plants farmers use produce insecticide pollen which is what kills most bees. I could be mistaken.
Keep us updated.

there is no colony without the queen, the bee workers go wherever the queen goes, to the death. at least thats what i would imagine would happen, im not stating it as fact because i really dont know, but im prob. right. goodluck i would lvoe to do something like this . later

I use to have bee's, been thinking about getting them again. I had them out in the corner of my yard about 60 yards from my house. The queen bee is your most important. I've been stung a lot but they don't even mess with me anymore.

2 or 3 people that live about 3 miles from me have honey bee's. They honey is deff worth it :D

id fightem. did you even try to stand your ground? Bees can smell fear, if you stand up to them they won't sting you.

Hey buddy, don't believe I've seen you around these parts much ;)

oh and yes bees can smell fear. I use to have honey bees and if you swat at them or make sudden movements those bastards swarmed but if you just watched them it was awesome.

I use to get stoned and watch them lol

My buddy is so afraid of bees its hilarious. I just sit there and watch him swatting and galloping around like a buffoon. hahaha. if he just chilled the fuck out it would probably just fly away. I've let them land on me before, and just flickem if they land. Wasps on the other hand are a bit more scary to me, not really that I run away but when I was a kid I remember feeling a tingling and looking down. There was a fucking wasp stinging me over, and over. Probably stung me a good 5 times. Hurts so fucking bad since it was on my hand. My hand was right above their nest though...

Lol ya I feel ya, I don't care for wasps either. I've been stung one to many times to care for them. I have to kill hundreds of them every year at my place. My best child hood friend got stung like 5 or 6 times once. I remember it we were at his house and they had a wood gate to their backyard and we were walking in and I saw it the moment we walked up to it and I was like ah fuck this I'll go the other way and he decided to go that way and well long story short he got stung multiple times in the neck...
