Earwigs

Does anyone else hate them?

What is the best way to make them go away.

I'm out in the country 38 Lattitude, and everything is drying out and going to be dead until fall and they love fresh vegetation.

I tried that granual slug and earwig stuff tonight. But they're eating my cucumbers and that isn't cool.

I try and take a live and let live approach with the earwigs...sometimes they make it difficult to do so, like when they crawl up my shorts and pinch me where the sun don't shine. Anyway, unless they start eating my veggies, I'll let them be. However, if the mantis population, which I plan to expand, should decide to snack on some pincher bugs, I'm not losing any sleep.

try insecticidal soap or any horticultural oil. even neem oil. but try it at a diluted rate first and not in full sun

The BEST way to rid your garden of earwigs(pincher bugs), is to put beer traps out. I kid you not. I'm not sure how large your garden is... but start out with a few small dishes(pudding dishes work well), dig a little 2" deep hole for the bowl to rest in, level with the ground so they can get to the beer easy. They go straight for the beer and die. You will come out in the morning to find a sea of earwigs dead in the dish. Pluck them out and regather the dead bodies the next day. If raccoons or opossums are a threat to the beer traps, you can lay something over the dish and weight it or stake it down but leave a small opening for the pests to enter. You will capture other insects besides earwigs. Legit ass OG way of pest prevention. Post your results, they will be good.

2 sips off 1 can/bottle of beer can take out dozens of those little fuckers. It's the most cost effective way of doing things. Like AZ said, he's out in the country. Beer is probably more accessible than an $80 bottle of AzaMax.

Earwigs on the gonadz? damn that would be one dead bug.

So is too much neem oil a problem if in full sun? I thought it was good for the leaves, but is it gonna cook because of the oil?

I'm going to put a bottle of beer like you said right next to my girl and I hope they drop like flies.....Or dead earwigs.

The only positive factor so far, is that in the last two days it's looking better, and all the tops the earwigs ate basicly pruned my plant for me.

Sweet. I'm going to be doing this myself. I've caught a couple munching on my basil, they go right for the tender growth tip...bastards.

I've found that the beer bottles work best. I drink 3/4 of it and leave it out. It even works for a few days after when the beer has gone flat. I put a 40 oz of pabst blue ribbon out.

Not only did I catch earwigs. But there was a yellow jacket and some other bug in the bottle too.

Just get some Venom spray, now that stuff works.

Beer traps, worked like a charm for me also, a solo cup under each plant. I spray neem at night right before the sun goes down to prevent leaf burn.
