About 2 weeks ago the new long neck bottles came into stores in my area. Ive been drinking Heineken exclusively for like a decade. What the hell did they do? Very different taste than before and just doesn't have the same kick. Its not as strong. I immediately looked for anyone talking about this online and didnt find anything except that they had changed the bottle shape. So what the hell? The recipe has definatly changed!

Bell's did the same thing when they secretly changed vendors that supplied their hopps for Oberon...........it tastes so bad I have zero interest in drinking it. They made the change about 3 or 4 yrs ago. My brother, who lived in the city they make their beer, practically spit it out the fist sip he took that spring.

Little things make huge differences on taste.

Yeah, the new Heineken actually tastes good and Id even say its more 'drinkable' - but not as strong! Maybe thats it - a different hopps? But no mention that there was an actually change in the recipe , just the bottle shape had changed. I find it odd.

bowls probably correct, a lot of companies can change their supplier for certain ingredients but keep the "recipe" the same so when people call and ask they can technically say they didn't change the formula. take it from me I've seen it first hand with gatorade and pepsi when I worked for them

Heineken hates Americans. Revenge for the war or something.

Ive heard that before about Heineken - skunky! Nah it aint if you get it fresh. NEVER buy it in 6 packs, it will be skunky, its a green fucking bottled imported! And never buy it at local wine/lotto/beer party store. I havent bought any skunky in many years .. fresh its the best beer out there imho.

It's ALWAYS skunky. Doesn't matter where you buy it, even at bars. It's crap beer marketed as being high class.
