any help please 1st time grower , hps 4month and no cola (12.12)

hiya , im looking for any tips help on my 4th attempt on my girl, shes getting big (tall) 14 big solar panel leaves a few new shout but the top seems to just keep sprouting new leaves and doesnt grow into the COLA shape in looking for , im very new to this and i do not know how to get it into that shape (i) see in the youtube and videos on the internet ??. what am i doing wrong ?isiit the light (12.12) isit ???? , ANYHELP Appreciated,x thanks blaksheep xxxx:?:

Post some pics if you can, sounds like you got some reading to do. Your lights need to be 12/12 if they are not

The plant develops colas when its flowering. It flowers when you change the lighting cycle to 12/12. Once the cycle is changed, it will grow rapidly for a few weeks then start producing just bud (colas).

That's all assuming the plant is female. If male, it wont produce colas, just lots and lots of seeds.

Females- White little hairs will start popping out between shoots when flowered
Males- Little ballsacks aka seeds will appear there instead.

That's the just of it. I suggest doing some serious reading.

I would suggest the same. Male plants never produce "seeds" they produce (drumroll) Pollen! 4th grade science class should have covered this.

Yes they will zoom in and show white hairs or balls....I'd start over that plant looks really bad. I'm only on my second grow and you need to ready more and be much more knowledgeable about what your doing....even if it is female your wasting your time for some shwag that will cost more in electricity than you will be high....good luck


Second time growing....you gotta read and take a lot of TLC!

Natural light is much easier to get detail. maybe pollinated female or hermi.

This thread is a spin out. Goes from one subject to another.

I reckon the OP is a plant from the forum mods to see how tolerant we all are.

My advice based on that is that you need to grow a marijuana plant for 6 years under 24 hours of light for it to develop cola. By that point you will start to see a red tinge in the leaves, usually towards the end of November - this is the start of the can developing. Shortly after this you will be able to hear a faint noise coming from the plant - if you listen very carefully you will hear the plant singing "holidays are coming. holidays are coming". By about the 20th December the resin glans will start to darken. The centre of the trunk will fatten into the unmistakable 2 litre bottle shape. Before the trichomes fully turn and cola is produced.
