Why choose auto flower or pre-fem over regular seeds?

Again absolute beginner here opening my trap but....
auto flowering seeds do not sound like they can be cloned.
pre fem seeds are a cross with a female plant and a herm female or so I have read in my botany book.
raises percentage of Hermes born.

whats right or wrong about my statements and why do you choose a certain type of seed?
thank You,
peace,

You are right in the above. Not only are female seeds made from a female crossed with a herm female. Also, if you force herm on a branch of a female and pollinate the same female the branch is on, you get almost identical copies of the female you pollinate.
Hope that made sense..
Personally I buy fem seeds. More expensive, but im too damn lazy and have too little room to grow any males. The autos are good in a smaller space and you can go 20/4 from seed to harvest, with no need to start a 12/12 light schedule for flowering.

the main reason for these types of seeds are for ease of use. for autoflowers you dont need a separate veg room and flower room they can all go in one room, you dont even need to change the light schedule for them to start flowering.

for fems you already know what youre getting in terms of the sex of the plant. some people grow only one or two seeds and dont have time/space etc to grow out 5-10 and sort out which is female and male.

these types are not made to be better, just more easy to use for the grower.

Galv and happy are spot on. One thing I might recommend is really researching your strain/breeder just to make sure they don't have a tendency to produce hermies. I regret having not checked up on the Big Buddha Tahoes I started in January. Happy growing!

Edit: In terms of what I choose, I honestly go with both reg and fem - sometimes the strain I want is only available femmed and sometimes it's only available regular.

Fem seeds and plants rule. Autos have their place I suppose but since potency is my main objective they are not for me.

I would guess you cannot clone from an Auto Flowering plant??
Are there any issues cloning pre fem vs reg seeds other than the higher probability of growing Herm clones with pre-fem seeds?

there is no higher incidence of fem seed hermingover regulars...it is botanically impossible for chem induced feminization to promote the trait...it will carry no more herm prone tendencies than did the parent stock

Hi!
Kite High,
love a suggestion for a pre fem with a high THC content and a relatively short grow period.
I have never ordered seeds online so I have to find a reputable company.
I plan on a drip irrigation over rock wool CFL to Clone, 400 HID to Veg, 600 HPS to Flower and CFLs for Mom too.
I need to keep it short my ceiling height is Low.... so I am planning on a net in the Flower zone.
peace,

I think I will only have room for 3-4 plants in my Flower zone, using the net to spread the plants over the 30"x42" area

Go with some feminized OG Kush. Easy to grow and lots of THC. I got 10 seeds from Royal Queen Seeds and all 10 germed and were all female. I did not purchase them through RQS though, got them through Castle Seeds. Took a week and a half to get here and 10 of them was $88 total.

Sannies Seeds, Attitude Seeds, and Sea of Seeds are all reputable companies. I prefer regular seeds because they allow me to chose the qualities I prefer from a strain and they give me the option of breeding.
All the best,
