Topping then fiming the tops?

Im growing 4 skunk #1s in 5 gal dwc under 600w hps, I topped them a couple of days ago and my new tops are well under way, im thinking about fiming the new tops which will hopefully let the lower side branches catch up on them to before I start tieing things down, what do yous think, good idea or not, im sure its been done by many people before anyone have any results from it? thanks bongsmilie

That would depend on how big your plants are, and if you want to wait the additional time from the extra pruning.

Usually topping once when when young in a bubbler, will generally produce you a pretty full canopy

I had a similar idea as well my friend, did it in my journal. What I did was LST every single branch on the bottom half of the plant, then I topped every top on the upper half. I waited a few days, topped every top on the bottom that had been getting some LST, waited a few more days/until it was pretty bushy, then I super cropped all of the branches that were higher than the bushy canopy forming on the bottom half of the plant, waited a few more days, now the bottom has caught up and its a nice even canopy, just chop and clone anything that doesn't catch up, wont make anything aside from popcorn buds.

Worked for me man,
Cheers

WP_000275.jpgWP_000274.jpgim two weeks into veg, been able to keep them very short upto now, I topped after the 4th node and I think their still under 6 inches, so pretty bushy already, gonna give them another 2 weeks, maybe a little longer depending on how high they are by that stage. seem to have got a slow grower at the front lol

Wow man, those are looking pretty bushy already, I would recommend LSTing them out to grow like a pine tree.

that's the plan, just cant make up my mind whether to fim them now or not, its going to have to be soon if I do because il want to keep the node short. yeah they are getting pretty bushy alright, I just moved some of the fan leafs and let all the side branches through to the top thismorning and they are looking even bushier still. from hydroton to the new tops is just over 5 inces and there is quite a lot of branching :o
